Dined one night during my stay at the Taj Samudra. It was the best meal I had in Sri Lanka during the entire trip. We ordered sushi set which was disappointing and best missed as the sushi as the seaweed surrounding the rice and fish quite limp and soggy. Oh and it was more rice than fish. The mains we ordered king prawns cooked thai style were huge and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the local fish, garoupa which was steamed and fried in chilli sauce. The fish was cheap and it was pointless ordering fish like salmon as it was extremely expensive there. With the mains we ordered the local mustard vegetables was very moreish and had rice with that. Portions are quite considerable we found it alot to eat for two people.
Last note, gents you can't go in wearing shorts in the restaurant. My husband had no idea there was a dress code and was made to wear a sri lankan gents sarong to dine. (quite hilarous!)
