Our driver took us here as an unexpected "treat". Very interesting to see what it take to make something that we wll take for granted. The process is very dusty and noisy, but not a sign of masks or ear defenders - a union would have a field day here!
Well worth a visit with camera to capture the various stages and look forward to a free cup of tea at the end of the tour.

Being Indian (now living in america) we know the importance of Tea. A cup of tea in the morning gives a kick start to the life. We had detailed view of the Factory and could see how tea is processed from leaf to packed bags. It was interesting and the factory staff was eager to explain whatever we asked for. The restaurant of the Factory was updated with all variety of tea manufactured here. I bought two packs for the house in USA.We visited this factory during our visit to Sri Lanka in Dec.2012.We were on our way to Nuwara Eliya when we took a break here.

It is very quite place where you can get information about tea fabrication and its history. Also you can have a lucnh or dinner in the reataurant. Prices is not high and quality of foods is very good. I you are not the maniac of tea don't buy tea in this place. Because it is expencive, but not the best. Just enjoy history, nature and meal :)

We visited the tea factory in June 2013 as part of honeymoon. As it was raining we were mat by very friendly staff from our car with umbrellas!! The tour was extremely informative and interesting. The staff were very friendly, they took photos of us let us touch the tea etc. There was no admission fee so we tipped our guide and bought some tea!! We were given tea to taste too. A great place to visit!!

We didn't know anything about tea so found this was very informative and fascinating. Felt like our tour girl was in a huge hurry to finish the tour though. Disappointing that the tour was only the factory not the fields too. Haven't tried it yet but bought the strongest tea at 1200 LKR for 400 grams.
