Visited the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad in July of 2013. Beautiful, beautiful structure. Best part was actually the people. I am North American and thus kind of stuck out there, but everyone was warm and welcoming and many, many people wanted their picture with me! Highly recommend visiting not only to see this structure but also to experience a piece of Pakistani culture. It's free, also...

An English Hymn has a beautiful verse: All things Bright and Beautiful, All Creatures Great and Small. All things Wise and Wonderful, the Lord God made them All. Faisal Masjid is an epitome of Man's Creativity Endowed to him by the One and Only Creator of Multiverses. People who worship in this Masjid, believe in the Ever Creating, All Compassionate and Merciful Creator. A Creator beyond the definition of His Creation, including any definition Man tries to give him. About 1400 years ago, in the Qu'raan, he is described as Rabil-Alameen, or the Creator of Multiple Universes, or Multiverses, who keeps himself involved in Creation, every atto second of human clock. Faisal Masjid is in Praise to the Humanly Undefinable Creator, because, if Humans could define their Creator, they would set His limits and then the Creator would be a Product of Creations' Imagination. All faiths in one way another describe the attributes of the Creator. So, Faisal Masjid, which is built to honor the Creator of All Creation is open to all humanity to come and visit, irrespective of their human beliefs, Christians, Jews, Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Parsees, and even Atheists are welcome to visit this architectural wonder of the modern world and are invited to come and make a journey into their inner self. Islamabad is home to Embassies and Consulates of nearly every country in the world. This Masjid is dedicated to All Nations of the World, whether Muslim or not, who make-up the Brotherhood of Man. It is a Symbol of what is left, if we take away our several identities and are left with a common Bond that we are all first and foremost Human and belong to the Brotherhood of Man. One Nation of Man on Earth located on a tiny Planet in a Remote corner of Milky Way Galaxy. It is where exists creatures, who sing, dance, paint, cry, laugh, suffer pain, and unite and become one to pray to save a baby stuck in a drain pipe in a remote corner of Texas, USA. That is what Faisal Masjid and it Marble Arches and its Transcendental Architecture symbolizes. Come one and All to Gain the Spiritual experience of this Monument which belongs to All Humanity, irrespective of Faith or Ideological Affiliations. It is a Wonder of the Modern World.

Located besides the Margalla hills, Faisal mosque used to be the largest mosque in the world till couple of years back. Its architect is quite unique, a mosque without pillars. The view from inside the mosque premises is very beautiful. combination of blue and white tiles inside the mosque makes it very attractive.
