“Secure, excellent facilities and staff”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

I stayed at the Marriott for 5 nights and have not got a bad thing to say about the place except the ATM machine does not except foreign cards The staff were extremely pleasant and the resturants excellent at reasonable prices. The gym has a separate male and female facility and its machines and weight lifting equipement is the perfect mix. As the the Thai massage I had....Outstanding! I would also like to thank Mr Afaq - Guest Service Officer who assisted me with the ATM issue since the bar can only accept cash for alcohol. He went beyond the call of duty and this hotel will be the only one I will consider for future trips to Islamabad. Thank you again to all the staff.

Dear Paddy from Cheltenham,
Thank you for this great review and happy you felt secure and that Marriott was an oasis in the city for you. Our ATM indeed belongs to the Nation Bank of Pakistan and accepts practically all ATM cards issued in Pakistan, regretfully not the foreign cards. Only last week I wrote a letter to the bank office to proceed as soon a possible with extending their services also for international cards and really hope that my plea will touch the right ears. Have a festive season back home and we are looking forward having you back very soon. Kind regards

Excellent business hotel, really hard working and caring staff. Very prompt and efficient service by housekeeping, good breakfast spread and above all very good gym.location is excellent. Do check out the very decent pakistani Resturant and very nice outdoor cafe. I used the hotel pick up service which was efficient and punctual.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms on front facing as too many poolside weddings means noise. Pick an exec floor.

I stayed in room 516 on 8 November, 2013 with family. There was termite running over the left side table and on the bed. Upon complaint, housekeeping guys washed the affected areas with spray and it was okay thereafter, but I didn't expect termite in one if the top line hotels in Pakistan. Apart from this, ambience and hospitality was awesome. Sajjad Gill

Dear Mr Gill,
Thank you for your visit to Marriott Islamabad and pleased to note that your stay was awesome and overall pleased. Also please rest assured I have already spoken to our pest control vendor to use a different chemical to also eradicate these mini-ants who seem to come out with the change of weather and within no time will be gone. Have a great autumn and hopefully we will see you soon back in Islamabad.. Kindest regards

Marriott Islamabad is good, rooms are clean and nice, food is excellent too. it also now seems very safe. The housekeeping staff is friendly and smiling. The only area of improvement I would suggest is to train or change the staff at the reception. Almost all of the ones I interacted with were very disinterested in their jobs, made false claims and never smiled. They always seemed to be bothered by any inquiries. One lady, called Nausheen is a case in point. I asked her to change my room, which she confirmed and told me that it will be changed in a couple of hours. I left the hotel for work and when I came back at the day end, I inquired about my room change. By that time she had left and the guy on the reception at that time said there is no record for any request. He then said, I will do this for you, you may kindly wait in your room. I went their and kept waiting for an hour. Then called again at the reception and this time a new guy picked up, who again said, I have NO information about your request. It was very disappointing. I would suggest the management to look into this matter. Otherwise a good experience overall. The staff at the security and the room were all very nice.

P.S. The breakfast is great too!

Room Tip: There is really not much of a difference between rooms on the first level and the executive level.

Dear Mr Farhan Kamal,
Thank you for your first hand experience and happy to learn that the hotel is to your liking and that you enjoyed our restaurants and security. I have well taken note of your comments on our reception staff and can assure you that your request must have slipped from Nausheen mind and regretfully could not oblige. I will make sure that there will be no such occurrences and they start delivering what they promise at the reception, no matter what. Pleased to note that you loved our breakfast and that overall you had a good experience.
Wishing you well in Karachi, we are looking forward to your return and make up.
Kindest regards

Reassuring levels of security as you enter the hotel. Excellent, helpful and polite staff. A wonderful range of in hotel restaurants serving delicious food. Comfortable rooms with good internet, wide range of TV channels on 42" screens. As good as if not better than the Serena hotel.

I used to fancy this hotel as I am a frequent traveler to Islamabad. It used to give you a feeling of premium hotel. It still maintains the quality of food, cleanliness of rooms, and ambiance is always great. However, it's the staff who make your experience sour. From the snobby and arrogant reception clerk to pretentious duty manager, they all need training in greeting and engaging with customers. If only I could by-pass them, I would continue enjoying the interaction with junior staff who are ALWAYS on the service, smiling, greeting, and attending.

Dear KK Traveler,
Thank you for your feedback on this portal and pleased to learn that you still enjoy very much our Ambiance and cleanliness of the rooms and quality of the food. Also happy that our junior staff is showing our true spirit of Hospitality. I have definitely taken note of the reception and duty managers' snobby attitude which I am sure I will be able to turn this around. Once again thank you for having been with us last summer and on your next trip to Islamabad, I am convinced you will notice the difference. Have a great time back home and looking forward to see you back
Kindest regards

We had a short stay at this Hotel but I gotta say that it was a great one ! From Check in to Good Bye's, this "secure" & warm place in the Heart of Pakistan is a Haven for peace seekers!!!
The restaurants on site are also excellent, I just wish that they were open later than they do.
