If you're fortunate enough to find and see the takhi horses, a trip to this park is worth it. The best time to see them is in the evening as the sun is going down, so you definitely need a guide to locate them. There are two areas they are normally spotted at, and a driver / guide will be able to locate them.
Beautiful creatures - however, don't get too close, because the government and the park want to keep them wild. To get a closer look, you'll likely need to hike up some steep terrain, but it's worth it.

We stayed here in a ger camp and walked up in the hills. We also went with a guide to see the wild horses which was just lovely. Cannot recommend this beautiful place highly enough.

We Mongolians call this wild horse Takhi but researchers used to call it Przewalski's horse because Russian scientist Przewalski discovered this type of horse in Mongolia and introduced to the World.
You can visit to Khustai National Camp and stay there anytime of year. Than could hire guide to go further to see Takhis in Nature.
Beautiful Nature and could see more Takhis if you have chance to see them.
Each season they go down to creek to drink water.
Also if you like to see Deer Stone, you could travel almost end of the National Park to see 1.
Some people don't like the bumpy road.
I've been there many times, and everytime you go to have different experiences.
Camp people are friendly and nice.
They make cheese there.
Also you could see the little movie and museum about Khustai National Park there.

A wonderful experience with the almost extinct wild horses of Mongolia. The camp where we stayed have a short video about the challenges & success of reintroducing tame horses to the wild. We had to drive on bumpy terrain just to catch the sight of these shy horses who came for their salt lick.
