Prior to the trip, uugan was very efficient in replying to my queries and was great help in finding like-minded travel buddies. Our flight was delayed and we had to make some last minute adjustments to the tour itinerary but she settled it with no fuss and even generously offered her place for us to spend the night. It was also a nice gesture to call to check on us during the trip to make sure we are ok :)
Our guide solongo is so fun-loving and jovial and cooks very well too- I never expected such a wide variety of local and western/asian food from a tiny kitchen (or sometimes no kitchen available) in a ger. It was like travelling with a good friend and we definitely enjoyed her company and her stories.. The tour will not be the same without her!
Our driver batbatoor made sure our car ride was smooth and with good tunes. He made plenty of nice stops along the way so we could visit the nomadic ger families, do some phototaking or to pee ;p And the good thing is that they provide good modern cars for the trip (not the old soviet vans which seem cool-looking but actually not comfy at all for long distance journeys).
Honestly, everyday was a blast and even the ger accommodation were beyond my expectations. My personal highlights of the trip were yol valley, khongor sand dunes and ongi area.
I highly recommend choosing man of millenium tour- very well-organised, safe, reliable, affordably priced and fun! Also a bonus that it was a small intimate group :) I will be back!
we did 8 days tour(Gobi&Orkhon&Terelj) with this company. we have limited time but they did the best. our driver was experienced. our guide did her best and tried to make us comfortable and satisfied. she cooked different meals everyday. tour owner was so helpful and listened our wishes. i recommend this tour for Mongolia. They are new but they are trying to do their best. they ask for airport pick-up and drop-off. of course they gave us the best price for 6 people.
We got to know Uuna during our stay in UB, she helped us out and let us stay at her place over night. Since we were completely lost this day, thanks for this again!
Based on this experience we booked her tour to Khuvsgul lake and weren't disappointed! :)
Our guide spoke english very well and was very caring and helpfull, he explained us some things about mongolian history and the area, as well he cooked us mongolian traditional food as we stayed in the comfortable ger at the lake, which was pretty tasty!
The lake and the area around is incredibly beautiful and untouched!
Of course if you are seeking 5 star luxury overall, it could be difficult, but then again, mongolia is the wrong country for you ;)
Thanks again for this great and adventurous experience!
5/5 would recommend.
Me and a friend (both 21) joined a tour that was in total 6 ppl + a guide and a driver. We drove around in central Mongolia for 7 days.I liked this tour a lot, the only thing a bit neggative was the long drives but I think it was worth it for the nice places we visited, the fun we had together as a group and the guide.
No need for good physical form to get a good experience but I think the tour excels if you like to explore your surroundings. Just take one step out from the gers and you can finde your self next too a big horde of horses, cows or other annimals.
We did a central mongolia 7 days tour, 6 people+driver+guide, cost 50dollar/day.
I m writing for two of us.
It was a good mix, we did something new every day. There was a lot of driving, maybe 5-6h a day, but that was a consequence of the length of the tour (wouldnt have thought about it as much if we would had stayed longer in each place). Also the driving was kind of fun, we played alot of different games.
The tour is kind of budget, but if you arent picky and dont have too much time in Mongolia I would say it s a good option (didnt explore the options one can find while actually inside Mongolia, not only googling around. But we liked and enjoyed what we got and thought it was worth the money.
One downside was the quantity of food, given what we did during a day one would want more. But I think if you are more clear about how much you eat from the start that would sort itself out. Otherwise remind the guide constantly about it, our guide loved when we did that
A week tour from UB to central Mongolia.
The guide was unprofessional, making bad food, separated the group and did not explain us anything about the places we've been to or seen.
On the last day we just drove back to the city and got there afternoon and payed for a full day!
I would recommend to go with a different company
