This restaurant's web site is not easy to find. As of October 2013 it is:
The food was very good, although we and the other couple all ordered the house specialty which is "Fillet of beef medaillons sechouan pepper sauce or bearnaise sauce." This has apparently been nominated as the best steak in Ulaanbaatar.
While the main course was very good, we chose the beef medallions because several people not only recommended them, but they also said some of the other dishes were rather "hit or miss." The waiter confirmed as much when we were going over the menu with him. However, we were all very pleased with our food and cannot comment on any of the other main courses.
The appetizers (quiche lorraine, carmelized pears with roquefort, and onion soup) were all very good, as were the desserts (chocolate fondant, creme brulee, and chocolate mousse)
The wine list was okay. Not great, not bad, not unreasonably priced, but okay. On the other hand, they must ship everything thousands of miles to Ulaanbaatar and that requires either several plane flights or a very long train journey. Taking that into consideration, the wine selection was good.
The attention of the wait staff was average, but there were only four tables for two waiters, so if they had been busier the score would likely be lower.
The restaurant has large doors all along the front of the building they are opened during the summer. We visited in August and had a very pleasant dinner sitting outside.
We would likely go here to eat again if we were in Ulaanbaatar.
