The hotel was clean, but the rooms were small with very hard beds. It was close to the night market and places to eat.

A very nice family-owned hotel, centrally located in the heart of Vientiane. Easy walking distance to the Mekong riverfront, the night market, the fountain (tho it was closed for renovation when we were here) and several nice restaurants.

We took the deluxe double bedroom costing 500,000 Kip, and it was super spacious and clean with super comfy beds. The toilets are amazing too with a good size bathtub, large shower heads and with the hot water flowing perfectly. It has all the mod cons like wifi, free use of Mac, tea/coffee making facilities, safebox etc etc.

The swimming pool on the 2nd floor is a nice touch as well. The staff are friendly although it would help if they would smile a bit more. They seem a bit stressed or just too serious with their work.

Still, I would recommend this place for good enjoyable stay in Vientiane.

Room Tip: The room facing the pool seems a nice touch.

I switched hotels due to my dissapointment over a 4 star establishment that did not deserve that deliniation. I could not be more happy with the choice of switching hotels to stay at the Chanthapanya Hotel in Vientiane. Attention to detail, beautiful room, quiet, fitness facility and pool as well as breakfast included with WiFi. The staff are always willing to help and are super efficient. Makes me never want to leave! Thank you for making my stay wonderful!

Room Tip: The suites are huge and wonderful at a good price!

Nice place, although at $55 my room (cheapest there) felt overpriced.
In its favor (for the price, compared to others locally), swimming pool and gym.
The gym equipment was good but lacking some obvious choices. Lots of jogging machines if you're into that.
The room was good, mozzy net was ripped which left a coupe of bloodusckers hanging around.
The (free) breakfast, honestly I felt uncomfortable eating here. Well attentive staff but it was not a great one for the price.
Free wifi was ok (not really fast but hey, it's Laos, right?).
All in all, I would stay here again, but I would try any other options first (lots are more funky, although the pool/gym combo are in this ones favor)

Room Tip: Ask for a view! Mine of the neighbours wall was... boring.

I stayed here for one night in January 2012, upon walking in the hotel has a beautiful lobby with artwork pieces throughout. I stayed in the standard room for $50 a night, they are of good size and clean. The original room they gave me was on the second floor just above the front desk. There was no view, just the building next door and it was very loud. I could hear the loud kitchen fan from the restaurant next door and people walking down the stairs which was next to my room. I walked down and asked the front desk if they had another room and explained the noise issue. They said there were no other rooms available, I told them that I was sorry and I would have to check out. To my surprise they pulled another standard room out of their magic hat. The new room was on the 4th floor overlooking the swimming pool and was very peaceful. The hotel is in a great location of Vientiane just minutes to the Mekong river, next to the cultural hall and within walking distance to many sites and restaurants in Vientiane. The hotel offers free breakfast each morning, has free wi-fi and computers for guest to use. They also have a nice swimming pool, spa (not heated), sauna and exercise room.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor room overlooking the swimming pool.
