I stayed for only 1 night. The shower was not working, the room was dingy and found red ants all over the bathroom. Breakfast was nice and friendly. I would choose a different hotel since this is a lot more than others in the area.

It was a good nights stay I had here. Not bad price, good location, very good staff, reasonably priced restaurant with decent food, good room.

No complaints at all and would happily go back.

I stayed here due to a remarkable deal that was too good to refuse, therefore was quite dubious about my stay here.
I should not have been concerned. The hotel is in a good location, just about all the sights are within walking distance, the hotel was clean, quiet, the room was very good with wifi, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good.
If were ever to return I would check this hotel out first.

the best western saved us from another bad hotel experience so it started out great! the room was spacious, clean, the door locked, the staff were freindly and it was centrally located. good price and a decent breakfast too.

Room Tip: our room was 207 at the back so it was quiet.

Vientiane Best Western Hotel is close to Mekong and very close to few
extraordinary, plated with gold governmental Buildings, the schools for
Monks and Budhist Temples. This Hotels is absolutely the best I have
stayed in 2010 on my numerous overseas trips. The big surprise is
offerred free a variety of the best Loa fruits on a big porcelain plate.
I think, I was very fortunate with front Desk staff and in the Hotel Restaurant.
When I come back, I will book again.

Room Tip: Any selection doesn't make any specific difference!

Some business travelers to Laos might be surprised to learn that the former Tai Pan Hotel has morphed into the Best Western Vientiane. I recently booked at the Best Western Vientiane, mainly because of my previous stays at the Tai Pan Hotel over the years. I wanted to see if the former standards of excellence would be evident under the new management and Best Western Hotel brand.

With my first step through the front door, I noticed that the lobby and restaurant were renovated to reveal a much more spacious appearance than the old Tai Pan. My room was similar to my remembrance of previous stays, but still superior by Lao standards in terms of cleanliness, classic polished wood floors, and other amenities. The flat screen TV and WiFi in the room worked fine. The breakfast was good quality and served in a pleasant dining area. The Fitness Center was under renovation during my stay.

Several of the new staff were still in training during my visit, but they were helpful, spoke English reasonably well, and they all seemed eager to learn the finer points of customer service. I met Ms. Vilavanh Souvannavong, the Assistant Manager of the family owned business. She seemed both competent and enthusiastic about her job. She seemed genuinely intent to help make the Best Western Vientiane the best business hotel in town. So far I would say that she is on track to accomplishing that goal. I plan to book another stay at the Best Western Vientiane on my next visit to Laos.

Room Tip: You may want to chose a room facing the street, but no view of the Mekong River from my room.

Located 100 metres from the Mekong River Promenade, the hotel is in a side strett so does not have the noise of the main road. However, it is still very close to many restaraunts, cafees and bars along the front.

Rooms are big and airy with polished wooden floors and big beds. Flat screen TVs and free Internet. There is a good lobby area with a small bar.

Family owned and run, this is a very good value place and very well located. I have stayed in 3 other hotels in Vietiane over the past 5 years and now only use this one.

Room Tip: Only 50 rooms , so not a problem
