“Nice hostel, poor wifi”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

The hostel is nice, people are friendly - very chill-out. The only things that drives my balls off is that the WiFi is super slow, incapable of streaming videos at lowest quality. At the time of writing I really want to give it 1/5, but I can't deny that it's in overall a great hostel ^^

My boyfriend and I visited Laos on a visa run from Thailand and had planned on staying for only one night. However, once arriving at Sihome Garden we decided to stick around for a few more days, four actually. Phil and Steve-O were both great and we honestly couldn't have asked for more friendly and inviting people. Steve-O was a photographer and it was great asking him about shooting spots around the area and talking with him about other creative projects. As others have said, if your looking for a great place with creative people, this is your spot!

If you fancy eating, sleeping, chilling and waking up in a place that gets your crearive juices flowing, inspires you and encourages you to live a life of happiness and one love, then the Sihome Backpackers Garden is for you!!
Its a place where all the worlds backpacking creative writers, photographers, musicians, artists and many others come to stay, for all the above reasons!

The staff are super friendly and make you feel at home from the minute you walk in. They fuss about you just like your folks would! Ensuring you've been fed, or got your drinks available at all times. Everyone from the cleaners, cooks, bar staff, to management team are great amazing people.

The vibe is just perfect, live music jams with the comune Guitar, to a massive cinema room for thoes lazy (rainy) evenings. They offer great and off the beaten track advertures and tours which are unique to any other hostel/ backpacker place! Giving you great insight into the culture and city life of Vientiane, Laos.

My friends and I had the most amazing time here and it was the people, (Stevo) mentioning a few names who enhanced our experiences of Vientiane! It really is about the human connection!!

Thank you Stevo and Team for a great time!

Love and Peace
Gita :-)

I have been staying at the gardens for about a week now and I can barely find a reason to leave. This place has a very chilled atmosphere, its situated away from the street, with spacious areas with trees and an excellent hammock, and a newly built volleyball court (watch out for the ants!). Clean rooms, showers and toilets, good AC, Good WIFI, the staff is amazingly friendly and they can help you with whatever you need in travels, visas etc. Special shout out to Stevo the manager for being a very multi talented and awesome host and buddy. There is also a movie room and you can get good food and drinks here (ask for the lao lao). Another cool thing about this place is the artwork on the walls, and more is coming, Lejla, one of the artists, has done two beautiful birds welcoming you stepping inside. And oh, there is a backpacker bird here as well, his name is Charlie and he can do high fives.
This place is special and I will come here again whenever I can.

/Martin
