Absolutely loved this market. Loads of stalls with great souveniers, clothes and bags at really cheap prices- you can barter a bit -especially if you are buying more than one thing. got childrens T-shirt for a couple of dollars and a childs football strip for $3. Cant go wrong at that!

At the Vientiane Night Market, there are an assortment of beautifully made cloths from silk and cotton. During the month of November, the air is quite cool as you stroll around the different stalls. Of course, there are also t-shirts, pants and skirts -- but these are mostly western-inspired and can be easily bought elsewhere.

I have heard that you can bargain by half the given price but I don't have that much success in this. Stall owners are quite tough and rarely move away from their stated prices!

There is something for everyone here. Typical night market with bargain souvenirs if you look hard enough. Walk away into one of the lanes for local grub

Cheap, loads of choice - make sure you get a Beer Loa top! Also, from 6pm there's a mental aerobics class in the park. Visit a bar with a balcony and take in the screeching while you survey the night market from above.

The night market during the day is a wide walkway; at night it's a beehive of lighted red tents; by 11:30 PM it is a wide sidewalk of nothing again. I purchased 53 fine handmade silk scarves there from a young lady but it was a total family operation. A brother and sister delivered the 5 bags directly to the room. I was given a seat, a bottle of water and a gift (a fine silk bed runner)for my purchases.
Her departing comment was "I want you to know, my name is Becky!"
Another tent had decorative silk coverings for a standard Kleenex box. A charming evening
