“Over prices but clean.”
Reviewed November 17, 2013 via mobile

This place looks much better in the photos than in reality. The rooms are large and clean with comfy beds but....

No hot water
Outrageously expensive minibar
Pool was being refilled and cleaned while we were there, so not available for use
Really, really noisy at night from the nearby hostel playing loud music until after 12, despite the curfew!

Overall, not bad but could do better.

My wife and I had booked in here for a week - we were moving to Lao for a couple of years and chose the Garden Hotel as a base to start looking for a house from. It was an excellent choice: the room was nice, the breakfast excellent, the staff helpful and the setting - with the small swimming pool and trees - relaxing. The laundry service was prompt and reasonably good value ($2 per kilo - you can get it for almost half that if you are willing to carry your laundry around town!).The pool is small but spotlessly clean. The only quibbles would be that the internet access was a little erratic for the last three days and the air conditioning was almost too cold!. For the price and the excellent location, top marks!

When I booked the hotel, I had read a lot of other reviews and quite a few had mentioned being disappointed with the breakfast, so we were prepared to go outside if necessary. It was excellent - buffet for fruit juice, toast, coffee, fresh fruit and various croissant-type-thingies and then a choice of omelette, noodle soup, pancakes, eggs in any way you wanted them. And the omelettes were especially good!

Room Tip: Above the ground floor is probably a little better in case there are people around the pool late (th...

Interestingly the people that own and manage this hotel Are not local but Vietnamese.a Thai speaker cannot converse with a Vietnamese but can with a Lao. Hotel has a good location and clean basic accommodation. Very good access to multiple foreign TV channels. Pleasant swimming pool and courtyard location. Overall good value and will recommend this hotel.

Stayed five nights..in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of most attractions. Staff are friendly and very helpful. They arranged trip to airport. Breakfasts are adequate. Would recommend if you are going to Vientiane.it is also a two minute walk to Ray's Grille.

The expression "don't judge a book by its cover" is well placed for this hotel. Very unassuming entrance and front desk. But the charm of the place opens up immediately after. A lovely courtyard surrounded by rooms that overlook it.
Rooms are modest but comfortable. I suggest asking for a 1st floor room to minimise the guest and staff traffic outside the ground floor rooms as well as the noise from the rooms directly above.
Breakfast is minimalist but sufficient with cereal, fresh fruit and eggs to order. Walking distance to the sights, Mekong river and most of the popular restaurants.
Good value and thanks to previous reviewers here for the recommendation.

Stayed here for 4 nights my first hotel in vientiane.
First impressions when you see the entrance is this does not look good,it's small and narrow but once you go threw reception it openns up into a nice enclosed location.
The pool is quite small, but it's only to call down in and you can have a quick dip when you return in the evening.
The room was on the first floor ,quite large with a large bathroom. A t.v. aircon + fridge and breakfast. A little on the pricey side ,I paid $45 p/n.
Staff were ok location slightly just outside away from the river and town but ok and quiet at night.
would I stay here again, yes ,you can get cheaper rooms on the ground floor, all rooms on the 1st floor have communial balcony..

Room Tip: It would suggest you stay here maybe 2 night's ,have a look around ,maybe your find something mo...
