Go before the sun goes down, to have a better light, the sun goes down early as trees are really high. Statues are quickly in the shadow.

It is a nice site where you can find statues of Buddhism & Hinduism but it is not sth special. It was built to "compare" the two religions (if you can compare anything to Buddhism!)
I find a little bit boring after the first 10'.

Very special place, not so far from Ventiane. Take the bus to the border and than take a tuk-tuk. This journey is very cheap.
The parc is very special, you can see statues of Buddha in different styles also statues of hindu gods. It is special but beautifull.

Many guide books highly recommend this place although to be fair they also say it's not to everyone's taste.
First of all, getting there by tuk tuk was torture. The road outside of city centre was in a poor state full of pot holes. Our tuk tuk driver had to slow to a crawl, muttering to himself all the way about how they are taking forever to repair the road. The long bone jarring ride alone is enough to put any one off.
Entrance fee was a negligible 5000 kip per person.
The statues range from human size to giant size. They are made of concrete, about 70 years ago. Most already show signs of crumbling, with cracks and missing fingers and limbs. If you are unfamiliar with Hindu and Buddhist mythology you may find them interesting but beautiful they are not. You will find statues with more artistic merit in any wat in Vientiene. The "park" area is not large, you could walk around it and take pictures of all the statues in half an hour easy and then it's time for the dreadful ride back to town. Waste of a whole afternoon.

We have three people. Paid the Tuk Tuk driver to drive us to Golden Stupa and Buddha Park for 230k Kip for three of us.

Overall the statues and buildings there are interestingly weird........ The only downfall is that these do not have a rich history behind it. Nevertheless, I enjoy the site and had a great time taking photos.
