This place is a fair distance from the centre of town. What a disappointment. The place is run down, the concrete statues all need a good clean. I can think of better ways to spend my time and money

“something to do”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

After Myanmar, I find this park cynical - something for tourists possibly. It is worth a visit if you are looking for somewhere to go.

“Great Day Out....make sure to meet a monk :)”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

DO NOT GET A TUK THERE!! My friends paid 200,000kip to get there wheras I only paid 19,000 to get there n back!
on way there got bus to friendship bridge - 6,000kip then tuk tuk to park for 5,000kip. Then on way back the no.14 bus picked us up from outside park all way bk to main bus station.
There is also a 5,000kip entry fee to park.
If you're lucky like me, you may meet a monk who will explain all the statues to you :)
And climb inside the big circle thing which represents the world. Creepy cool statues inside n great view at top!
Staturs need sandblasting or something as look older than they are.
And statue of man sitting cross legged wearing gold shawl invented the idea of the park..he was from India.

“Very interesting place”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

This park is unique. There are more than one hundred cement statues of Buddha or Indu characters. It is surreal. There is a very large of a reclining Buddha. It is a unique place and very interesting. It takes almost one hour to reach from downtown Vientiane but worth it.

“not woth the ride”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

It takes 45 mins in a tuk tuk, and its a dull, dusty ride back to Friendship bridge and beyond. the park is small, and the statues are clostered close together and there is no great river scenery at all. Its nothing special to go there
