Nice rooms, staff, facilities and food. Good location in the business district. I was not really happy with the Inernet service but it sounds like there is not a lot of control over the issues for infrastructure. The staff certainly aim to please. The food seemed very good with a wide selection, but I do not have a lot to compare with.

Room tip: Try to ask for a pool facing room as your WiFi reception is likely to be better.

My son and I stayed here for 3 nights during the summer. The hotel was very clean, modern and had a most helpful staff. The room was of a decent size and the beds were comfortable. There was a mini bar in the room and I believe a coffee maker along with many more amenities. The air conditioning was good and had a tv with several English speaking stations. Our room was overlooking the swimming pool which is handy at the end of the day. The location was quite central and close to the Mekong River where everyone meets for happy hour. There is a supermarket within a few blocks and the US Embassy was near. We had extra pages put in our US passport there in less than an hour. Also there was a very large market selling almost everything. Taxis are hard to find, especially when an airliner lands. They're all at the airport. The hotel has a car for a small fee to get you to the airport when you leave. Tuk tuks are everywhere. The hotel breakfest was excellent, a large variety of choices. I would definetely stay there again.

We stayed at the Lao Plaza Hotel for one night in October. It’s an excellent property offering both first-class accommodation and meals. We enjoyed a beautiful room which overlooked the hotel’s outdoor pool. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and most individuals spoke English. Breakfast was a huge buffet featuring both Asian and Western dishes. There is also a very nice lounge on the hotel’s main floor.

I spent one night in the Lao Plaza Hotel.I had an executive room, the difference to a normal room apparently being the free Internet access (via an LAN cable). At Coffee Shop, I found so many gold medals won by their chef at international culinary competion oversea. It was my big surprise to know that Lao PDR has such a caribre hotel.

It was a nice hotel when it was new but it has seen better days. It is badly in need of refurbishing if not serious renovating. It is too pricey for its sad condition. There are better hotels at the same price. Sad because it was a good hotel
