“Nice selection of Lao food but done to Western taste”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014

I have lived in Vientiane as an ex-pat for 18 months now and have visited most restaurants in Lao.

For Lao food suited to Western taste this place is perfect. They do all the local favourites but don't put the chilly in, or fermented fish paste, that the locals love. This is because most Western people don't love it.

After 18 months I prefer more genuine Lao food, made as locals would eat it, so I go to Lao street cafes where locals eat. You will find very few locals eating here. It's a place where Westerners eat.

If you are on holiday, looking for Lao food, but don't want it too spicy etc then I high recommend this place.

If you are looking for a more genuine experience, with recipes made as the locals eat, then try a local street cafe. You'll know you're in one because there will be no Westerners in it!!

“Great!”

Our guide took us here for dinner and I just simply ordered fried vegetables with rice and it was the best fried vegetables I have ever tasted! Along with the fresh spring rolls! It was all amazing!

“Great place...great flavours”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014

Based on other reviews , we decided to dine at Lao Kitchen, and were not disappointed. The prices are not high, the decor is very pleasant , and the food is well presented..

We chose a couple of sharing starters.......spring rolls, and some deep fried leaves with sesame seed and a spicy sauce, followed by a curry, a vegetable and chicken stir fry with ginger and sticky rice. Together with 2 large beers and a small beer, the total bill came to 120,000 kp.....that's under £10.......and the flavours were perfect.

Thanks to all the reviewers.

“Excellent Lao food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

Found this little gem tucked away in a side street, parallel to the main road. Absolutely amazing and probably some of the best found we had around the country. Clean, good and helpful staff, nice portion, good value for money. Chicken laap was delicious! Couldn't fault it and would be more than happy to go back there during our next visit to Vientiane.
