This hostel was a nightmare from the start, arrived at the expected time and was confronted with the rude owner who stated our room would not be ready for another hour. Asked about breakfast, was told it was served in the lobby between 7 and 10, however when we went down for breakfast at 9.30 we were told there was no breakfast, even though every review on here seemed to get breakfast also! Room was small and worst value for money as we got a better room round the corner for $17. Would not recommend at all much better hostels elsewhere with friendly owners.

I am not sure why this hotel was so expensive, we booked in advance thinking we should as we were there for Christmas so assumed everywhere would cost more, this was not the case.
The room was dirty, we looked under the bed and there is a mountain of dust. The room really did smell quite bad and the drains were all blocked, The sheets were not clean so we used our sleeping bag liners. The worst part came when we tried to sleep and the water pump above our room kept going every time anyone turned on a tap in any part of the hostel. The room was very small and did not look like the photo. Someone mentioned free drinking water but we didn't get that.

Pros: The lady that worked there was very nice and the breakfast was good. It was close to everything.

It's nothing great. The room was OK but a bit cramped and the bathroom light behaved in an eccentric fashion. Sometimes it would come on, sometimes not. Sometimes it just turned itself off when it was on! A loose connection, I suppose.

The bed and bedding was fine, though. I had a comfortable enough stay.

The breakfasts are very well cooked by the charming lady of the house. What I presume the husband is less charming, I thought he was a sullen, moody so and so.

There is wi-fi but only in reception but it's not too bad. They could also empty the ashtray at the front occasionally!

Our room in the Naphavong Hotel was okay but not as nice as on the pictures in the internet. I am pretty sure the pictures on their homepage are not taken in this hotel. Our first impression of the staff was very good but after we bought bus tickets to the Konglor Caves and payed double the price (compared to other tourists) we had to change our mind. At least we got our money back after having an argument with the manager. The best thing in this hotel was the included breakfast.

the hotel is located close to the river walk , there is good night market close to the hotel. the tourist attractions are all walkwable , a bit of a long walk...the breakfast is good... the rooms are a bit old, but clean. water in the bathroom dint run down , it was stagnant for quite some time ... there are a lot of tuk-tuks available from just outside of the hostel. dont take the pick up service by the hotel from the border ... as its expensive instead get a taxi/tuk-tuk from there for cheaper price.

Room Tip: you can try other places in the same area with similar prices and better facilities......
