“This hotel has style!”

I have been to Vientiane many times over the course of work n have stayed at various hotels n apartments. I will say that this is the Best hotel ever and I love the stylish design n comfort. The staff were excellent n breakfast was gd. Luv the fact that there is ipod dock, free wi-fi in the room n two mac computers for guests to use in the restaurant. The location is fabulous with lots of restaurants n eateries around. It is just a short walk to the Mekong river.

This hotel is highly recommended esp for corporate visitors who are tired of staying at the regular hotels that caters to the mass market. I am sure u will have a great experience n comfortable stay just as I did. The only drawback is that it doesn't have too many rooms. So do book early.

This is really an excellent hotel, which opened about 10 months ago !
Very helpful and kind staff (no trouble was too much to assist us) ; very central location (though in a relatively quiet street); spacious room and excellent breakfast buffet.
Free WiFi everywhere in the hotel and two ultramodern computers available for free in the restaurant.
Perfect soft and large bed, very quiet (but effective) airco, large flatscreen tv with "unlimited" international channels.
The only thing to be improved is the water pressure in the (large and beautiful) bathroom, as the pressure from the shower is not stable and hot water sometimes difficult available.
Not enough baby cots available in the hotel, but they did their utmost to find a suitable solution.
Definitely highly recommendable (if you can spend some 75 USD per night incl. breakfast).

A colleague had recommended this hotel and I could not have been more pleased. Rooms were very tastefully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. Showers were a bit confusing as the faucets for hot/cold water were different from the sink to the shower. Hotel staff offered to switch them for me, but did not bother. Only complaint was that the water pressure could be improved. Hotel is getting more amenities, such as body lotion so that will be there in June. Room has safe in it and a clock, but clock is very confusing and shuts off every time you leave the room since it is tied to the air-conditioning. Staff offered a solution to that and gave me a second key to keep in the door as long as I promised to turn off the ac when I left. Remote for AC worked well. TVs were large flat screens. Free wifi in the rooms and computers in restaurant.

Breakfast was free and very good. Manager is always looking how to make improvements and asks guest for suggestions. Overall a great hotel and I highly recommend it.

This hotel offers all that you would expect of a hotel in this class. The rooms are nicely appointed with all amenities such as safe, minibar and a working wireless internet connection (free with password). The hotel's restaurant is good, a bit pricey though compared to the many restaurants just steps away in the streets surrounding the hotel. But it is a good choice if you are tired and don't want to walk around to find a better place.

The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, sometimes a bit inexperienced and with difficulties in understanding English, but their friendliness makes up for it!

Title of this review says it all. This hotel was amazing. For the sophisticated traveler who values style as well as comfort this ticks all the boxes. Best mattress in SE Asia I have ever slept on. Design elements rival best hotels in Bangkok, service with a smile, fabulous location. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about this hotel. Even the guest computers in the lobby where I am writing this review were amazing. I don't usually post pictures with my reviews, but any shot I would take would be website worthy as there isn't a problem with this hotel ANYWHERE. 6 Stars!!!

As a first time visitor to Vientiane, Laos, I had some angst on choosing a hotel. In researching on the internet, I came across Salana Boutique Hotel. It turned out to be a find and such a pleasant surprise.

At the time of this writing, the hotel has been open for less than six months. The hotel is spotless and well run. Staff are super friendly and eager to make your visit a pleasant one. Bathroom cleanliness is a particularly critical issue for me. The Salana bathrooms are clean, with modern fixtures and fittings and contemporary in look. Shower stalls have an overhead shower head plus hand held variety. Toilets are accompanied by douche fixture.

The rooms may be just a tad small, something you will feel only if you are travelling with a lot of luggage. Otherwise, the room size are satisfactory. My room was equipped with a desk/chair, flat screen LCD TV, refrigerator and a pull up armchair. Heavy drapes shield light sleepers from sunlight.

The decor of the hotel reflects the region, using artwork and materials indigenous to SE Asia. The style is quite "East meets West".

The hotel has a restaurant attached from where a breakfast buffet is served. Breakfast is a respectable offering of Western and Asian fare. You can order eggs using a pre-printed request slip to specify your selection. This is done I imagine to overcome language challenges between guest and staff. A limited menu is also available for a la cart selections for lunch and dinner. The restaurant staff is very hospitable, though language issues can be a small obstacle - nothing major.

The restaurant has two very slick MAC PCs available for guest use with respectable connectivity speed. WiFi is available from the rooms, but can at times be a bit sluggish depending on traffic and distance from the router. I did however accomplish most PC needs from my room without incident.

The hotel is centrally located in town, though Vientiane is quite small, and 'walkable' from a tourist perspective. So not too many hotels are 'too far' from what I could see.

I would happily return to Salana if my travels ever brought me back to Vientiane.
