We went to Funky Monkey Hostel, took one look and went over the road to this place. $20 in off-season, not too bad. Great location and do your washing over the street for 5,000 kip/kg less! Rooms were comfortable and clean, but had a few stains on the sheets and ants on the wall. Nothing serious!

Our biggest disappointment with this Hotel is we booked it because " It was the last room left" ( if you travel you understand it is never the Last Room ) and it was stated as having a "Rare River View" . What they really meant to say was a , "Rear View" meaning no view whatsoever at the back of the hotel. The rooms (3) I saw were all pretty clean but please note these we the smallest room. I had on my 39-day trip in Asia. First room was first floor, second room I saw was on the third floor with a fully broken bathroom door, finally got a room on the 5th floor at no extra charge but it took me 30-minutes plus to do it and it was late at night, my girlfriend was sick and we had just spent 9-hours on a Van ride and were looking for a nicer place. The young guy at the reception spoke and understood very little English & I speak and understand some basic Thai but no Laotian, so all of that ended up being a negative experience for us. On the positive, hum...because the room was small and the air condition worked the room stayed nice and cool in the hot sun and we did have a City View. The location is also good but please nite there is Not an elevator if you pay extra for the "City View" or "Temple View" rooms, good luck!

Room Tip: If you want a view you need to climb the stairs Rooms are all very small in All classes! "Rar...

This was a great place for being in the tourist strip, lots of handy eateries & street food stalls. The room was small & not cheap. However, the staff were helpful despite not speaking much english. The air conditioning worked well if you wanted a respite from the heat outside after a busy morning of walking.

Having stayed in Vientiane several times, this was one of the more expensive places, but certainly not the best. The hotel is in a nice location, and staff are friendly enough. We had a problem with ants and were quickly moved to another room. The biggest problem is the maintenance. Rooms aren't thoroughly cleaned, very dirty under the bed, marks on the walls etc. Our second room was much nicer than the first but I don't think you really get value for money here. I know you can get better for this price in Vientiane.

We were recommended to stay here as it was close to where the bus dropped us off, and as we only had one night we did. Probably could find something better in the area, but it was adequate for one night (one night only). Room was very small, the walls had stains and overall not inspiring. A little sprucing up and this place would be much better. For the price you got a good hot shower, a reasonable bed and a TV with cable. Without providing breakfast, this place was not really value for money. Location however was excellent.

Stayed there for one night... the room was very small, 5th floor and no elevator, no view and costs 25 dollars. for what? The upsetting thing of all was the fact that the hotel staff deseaved us! we asked about the location of the airport. the staff said its a 20 min drive and a taxi should cost 70000 kip. Actually its a 5 min drive and shouldnt cost that much. very disapointing!!

We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago after our driver claimed he couldn't find the hotel where we had reservations. While below the standard of the place we had made reservations we liked the location and the hotel was nice enough especially for the price.

When we returned this year and stayed there again we didn't have nearly as nice an experience. It's still a great location and a great value. However there were a couple of issues. The room had clearly not had a detailed cleaning in some time. The door barely latched and had no internal lock. It's mostly likely safe there, but it's never easy to sleep knowing that someone could break into your room in seconds. Linens and trash bags from housekeeping where laying in the hallway the entire time we were there.

Obviously a lot of care and attention has been given to the exterior and the lobby. Very puzzling why the rooms don't get similar treatment.
