If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the heart of town, this is it. For the price paid, please dont expect the sun and the moon. You get a clean room, air cond that works, flat screen tv and wireless internet. Staff was friendly and accommodative. Only problem was the hot water didnt work well and the the sound from the air cond compressor (3rd floor) was quite deafening. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room that is away from the air cond compressors.

Dont confuse this hotel with the lane xang which is on the river, a much better location. The Lane Xang Princess is about 15 - 20 minutes walk from the central area of bars and restaurants though its almost next door to the main market. The rooms are huge and very clean, similar standard to European 3 star places. Our room had no windows but was bright enough with clever lighting. Breakfast depends on how many people are staying, when there were a lot there was an ok buffet but one night there were no other people staying and so breakfast was eggs and bread. They did lay on an early breakfast for us when we were leaving on crack of dawn bus. Service is good and if you dont mind the location and clean rooms and hot water, then consider it.

The hotel is well located for day activities but in the evening it was a little harder to flag down a moto into the main "touristy" area. The markets were great and the staff here were awesome.

There were free internet terminals downstairs, a little slow but no problem - along with free wifi. Breakfast was wonderful and the rooms were fresh and clean. I thought it was great value for money with friendly service.

The best part was the beauty salon that's part of the hotel, we got to know the ladies getting their beauty treatments done very well. They'd come into the breakfast / dining area and be sipping on wine - at one point Australian wine which was a "conversation" starter (we got invited to join in) - it was brilliant! Heart warming and welcoming and a highlight of our stay there seeing daily beauty life in Laos as we walked past.

I would definitely recommend it.

The hotel is located opposite the morning markets and about a 10 minute walk from the "touristy" area with the majority of bars and restaurants. We chose this hotel based upon the very impressive website (check out the map!! Werhoo!!) and because it's one of the few places that would accomodate 3 separate beds (twin + roll-away). We had a bit of trouble checking in because the staff have limited English skills and weren't expecting us (good idea to email and confirm your reservation if you've booked it far in advance). It was pricey at $70USD/night for 3 people but many places in Vientiane are. The included breakfast was yum (cooked to order on the first day, a buffet on the second); the room was a good size, modern, and spotless (some don't have windows so ask for one that does!); and we always felt safe. The trundle bed, however, was rock hard and horrible to sleep on. You can't win them all!
