City centre hotel close to Nam Phou Fountain
I booked this through Asia Travel after playing email tag, for a week, with two other hotels. Thankfully, there was something available at the last moment. To treat myself, I booked a deluxe double; 3 days cost including fees, taxes and service $130.59. They do have cheaper rooms; standard. I didn’t see it.
My room on the 3rd floor via the stairs, no lift, is first-rate. My worry looking out the see-through curtains, this being a Sunday, is that the unfinished building right next door will continue to be built starting Monday; i.e. noise, hammering and drilling.Confirmed by manager this afternoon. 8 AM to 45 PM. Bummer! Monday-light hammering. Not too bad.
So the room has what; firm but comfortable bed, toiletries, hot and cold water, air-con, mini-fridge and mini bar on request, free H2O, coffee and tea packets along with breakfast; small buffet along with eggs and drinks. Good. More than enough.
Add a hot water heater for coffee, free wi-fi, free use of computer downstairs with UN-updated security, writing desk, safety box at reception and the normal for a Lao hotel, if you choose to use them; exchange, travel services and laundry. Accepts Visa and MC, probably with an additional 3%?
Yeah, I’m glad I treated myself since where I am heading little looks good accommodation-wise.
Three photos included may not be great but gives you an idea. No way to get full view of room.

Room tip: Ask for a quiet room as there is a building being built RIGHT next door. Go upstairs since downstairs rooms might be noisier.

We booked a small room with pleasant (but not obtrusive) furnishings, even though there was no view. Stone's throw between the Fountain and riverside, easy access to everywhere is plus plus. Wifi weak on Level 3 but fast, free computers in lobby. Simple but adequate breakfast with eggs to order and very good rice porridge and the usual fruit etc. But the highlight was the front desk, who graciously allowed us to layaway bags whilst we traveled light to Vang Vieng, and arranged small things with a smile.

Room tip: Previous reviews are right: high (3rd) floor no elevator, but staff enthusiastically help with bags. Noise was not a problem

A terrible place to stay!! Find another hotel. The room was just okay but needed maintenance and better upkeep. The hotel is located in a back alley although it has a good central location. The staff members are not friendly at all, and the breakfast is the absolute worst.

Room tip: There are many other nicer looking hotels located close to this dump.

We stayed here for one night and we very happy with the location for a quick tour of the citys main attractions. Our room was spacious and clean. Staff were quiet but friendly and helpful.

There were some building work during the day but we were out and about so this did not disturb our stay at all. Very peaceful at night apart from a couple of local lively dogs!

I was unimpressed with the unsurfaced road from the main road. However, upon checking in I was impressed with so many things like the cleanliness, friendly staff, firm bed, breakfast, location and tranquility. The place is now known as Avilla Phasouk. Oh ya the room wifi was good too. What else can one asked? A very homey place.
