Stayed 3 nights at this guest house recently and found it to be really well located. The rooms are large, cool and quiet. The bathroom tiles have mouldy grout but it is ingrained so just looks bad rather than being dirty. Staff were pleasant but found we had to ask for information such as maps etc. For the price, it would be hard to do better in such a central area.

Stayed 2 nights here.

Rooms are clean and spacious, comfortable beds, TV, Fridge, Air Con, although ours was really struggling to keep the room cool.

Reception were very helpful, booked us a taxi for a 4:30am departure to airport no problem.

I think the location is ideal, minutes from all you need.

You have to hand keys in whenever leaving hotel and rooms are cleaned daily, good stay 3.5/5

Vientiane isn't exactly known for quality accomodation, but I was pleased with my stay at Souphaphone Guesthouse.

The bed was comfortable, the room was big and clean and so was the bathroom. They also have a shower curtain that keeps the whole bathroom from gettinng wet everytime you take a shower - something rare in budget accomodation in SE Asia. There's also a small fridge in the room with two small bottles of water that are replaced everyday. Air-con works well. The lady at the front desk was helpful on giving me directions and seemed friendly. They also arrange bus tickets to other towns.

Cons:
- weak wifi in the room
- a little overpriced (27 USD or 22 USD without breakfast)

Booked two nights via phone call, and chose the rate that excludes breakfast. Upon arrival, the receptionists just watched my husband struggle with our luggage, taking them all inside the lobby from the street as I chased our running toddler around. Did not offer help at all even when we had to transport our bags to the 4th floor! A receptionist even laughed at the misunderstanding when my husband went down (after we all climbed upstairs to see the room) and asked who'll assist. Throughout our stay, she also lazily answered basic questions.

The room is very spacious compared to other hotels within the same price range in Vientiane. Aircon and water heater worked well in our room. Wifi doesn't reach the upper floors and is turned off in the wee hours. They do no offer laundry service.

Liked the guesthouse and its location, but not coming back because of its cold and jaded staff. They seemed uninterested with the existence of their guests.
