The hotel is close walking to the more touristy area of Vientiane with it's restaurants and bars. A stones throw from the Mekong river means you can stroll along the front in the daily night markets without needing a tuk tuk. Our room was spacious, in good condition and our only gripe being that the room wasn't 'sealed' and there were no mossie nets. A few bites later...

The room electrics are controlled by your key card which when removed turns everything off; the fridge, your pc charging, everything - this took a bit of getting used to as we were desperate to charge up after a long overland trip.

The staff are amenable and arranged a breakfast 'to go' when we had to depart for an early morning flight. Breakfast was included in our price and was substantial, so much so we often went without lunch.

Room Tip: We had a road facing room - depending on what you like, you will find this a little noisy or a real...

This small hotel offers comfortable, clean rooms with airconditioning and in-room safety box.. The hotel has a lovely athmosphere. Friendly staff. There is no elevator. Good breakfast with a variety of choices. Walking distance of major attractions.

Room Tip: There is no elevator, so try to book a room on the second floor.

My son and I had a loft room. It is amazing how much room we had. The furniture is of nice timber, almost antique but in top condition.
The breakfast was very good. On our second morning we had to leave at 0700 on the bus to Luang Prabang. The breakfast staff made sure we got our breakfast before we went.
The location is good for many of the restaurants being nearby as well as the riverside markets.
Very close to our favorite, L'adresse de Tinay.
The only extra we would like to see would be in house bicycle hire. Overall, we are very impressed and will stay here next time in Vientiane.

Decent hotel, which is nicely located near the Mekong. Our room was very nicely decorated with some lovely furniture (though you might need a stepladder to get onto the bed) and a nice feel to the place. The breakfast was fine - quite a wide variety of options, though the coffee was putrid, tepid, and (thankfully) scarce. The staff were helpful when asked for something. My only gripe was the stinginess regarding bottles of water in the room. Guests get two on the first night and have to pay for every other bottle after that. We stayed for three nights. If three separate sets of guests had stayed one night each in our room, would they have got two complementary bottles each night? It's a small thing, but it comes across as penny-pinching to me. Overall though, I'd recommend the hotel and stay there again.

The good thing about reviews here is that you could really trust them. This hotel may not be the first in the list but the description of Hotel Khamvongsa from other reviewers gave me a reason to stay there. The hotel is a few street away from the backpacker street so you could be assured that night time would be quiet. Very near the river and night market and food options are abundant.

Will definitely stay here again when I return to Vientiane.

Room Tip: Corner room facing the road is a good room.

Great clean accommodation. Some of the staff could be a bit more hands on. The aircon was struggling in the very hot conditions.
Easy walking distance to bars, markets, street food and eateries.
Just one minor complaint.. Free bottles of water would be good. Even just one for brushing teeth etc. all water is to be purchased.
But I would and have recommended this place since staying. Would do again myself
