“Cute japanese restaurant and best chocolate desserts in VTE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2011

I love Yulala! The Japanese food they serve cannot be found anywhere else. It's tasty and well presented. I like the intimate atmosphere of this place, although I have to say that I really don't like the seatings arrangements which make absolutely impossible to find a confortable position to eat if you are tall. You cannot leave this restaurant without trying their desserts, the Chocolate ones are orgasmic!

“We were in Laos or was it Kyoto?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2011

Our last day in Vientiane and our last meal.....and what a special meal it was! YuLaLa transported us back to Kyoto....we had the box set.....delicious soup, croquettes were so yummy.....as was the chicken cutlet crumbed. The setting up of our dishes on the table was an artistic moment of theatre.....the placing of the chopsticks carefully layed upon a little doll holder, each dish beautifully aligned...all so calming in a busy town like Vientianne! A must visit....located on the corner of Rue Hengboun & Rue Hengbounnoy....search for the small Yulala sign and ENJOY

“Hidden little gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2011

As stated in previous reviews the place is japanese because the owners are, but the fiod is more of an eclectic mix of delicate asian flavors in a laid back setting. The place to go for a quiet but original and subtle meal at purse friendly prices.

“Simple and Creative Dishes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2010

This restaurant is often described as "Japanese", maybe because it is owned by Japanese people, but you won't find sushi and yakisoba here.
Instead they offer a selection of creative but simple dishes with clean and satisifying flavors.
There are vegetarian dishes as well as offerings for the carnivore.
YuLaLa is closed on Mondays and opens for dinner at 6pm on other days. Sometimes the cafe fills up quickly right between 6 and 6:30 and you have to wait for the next wave of tables.
A few of my favorite things: YuLaLa salad with a yummy soy/sesame dressing, homemade ginger ale, ratatoulle, tofu rice, and warm chocolate cake, served in a rammekin and topped with frozen whipped cream.
My meat eating companions often chose beef and potato croquettes.
