Wish we had found this place earlier; the food is excellent and the french host sometime plays the piano - very relaxing; can recommend the Nam Keow. The prices are reasonable/sensible compared to many in Vientiane. The staff are friendly and well trained.

We ate here a few times and really enjoyed the quality of food. Not only that we were also treated to an impromptu piano recital by the very talented owner.

The restaurant offers both local Laos and French cuisine at reasonable prices. I started with a salad with hot goat cheese (32,000kip) three thin lightly grilled slices of goat cheese on lightly toasted slices of bread adorned by a small amount of green salad with dressing. The portion was small but the salad was fresh and it tasted quite good. For mains I opted for stir fried chicken and vegetables in yellow curry with sticky rice as a side. It was standard fare nothing special but reasonable value at 35,000kip. I personally really like sticky rice much preferring it to standard boiled rice. Sticky rice is by far the most popular form of rice served in Lao, loved by the native populace. The ambience of the restaurant is rustic with seating both indoors and out. I'd like to go there again and try out some of the typical French dishes such as Lavou de boeuf and magret de canard to get a better opinion of the food and see how it measures up with French restaurants. Based on my singular dining experience here I'd definitely give it another shot. Note of caution for those dining on the outdoor tables-there are wall fans which blow somewhat annoyingly hard over the tables.

My boyfriend and I hadnt seen any reviews for this place but stumbled upon it when the place we were planning on going to had a power cut. We were so glad we did! We enjoyed our breakfast so much we came back for dinner. We both had really nice, well priced wine and some delicious steak. It was the first time we dared try the steak since we arrived in Asia 3 months ago as it often appeared very thin and dry but this was just what wed been waiting for and a lot cheaper than on many other menus. the staff here are really friendly and in the evening play the piano which makes a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Extensive menu of Lao and French cuisine, fresh and well prepared. The fruit shakes were right up there with any we have had locally. Nice touch is the owner? playing classical piano early in the evening.
We booked a table out on the balcony which was perfect to watch the tourist parade in the street below. Good value meal and comfortable surroundings. Only warning, don't go up stairs if you have a mobility problem, the steps are very steep and a bit difficult to negotiate.
