“Amazing food in a beautiful old building”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2011

The fish laap was so good I had it both times I came to eat here! It's refreshingly full of mint and the owner was very accommodating for my food allergies. The banana sticky rice for dessert was also excellent, an interesting take on the classic mango sticky rice. It's served with grilled slices of banana with caramelised sugar on top. The restaurant is in a beautiful old building, with the upstairs balcony especially atmospheric, while the staff are friendly if not always English-speaking.

“Delightful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2011

We ate there 3 times. The upstairs balcony gets you away from mozzies & the street noise while the passing parade is interesting. As mentioned below the Tamarind Fish is superb. As are the curries (complete with whole spices). Everything we tried was very good. The owner tinkling on the piano adds to the experience. Very generous serves of wine & cheap, too. LOVED it.

“Great food at a good Price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2011

This is a all around restaurant. You can order whatever and it is good but nothing really over the top. We have dined here a few times and it is very reliable. The Prices are very good and service friendly. It is very well located near the river and it is Always good to go here.

“Nice place to eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2011

Try the balcony upstairs. It's a great place to sit and look over the streetlife of Vientiane and avoid the many beggars that can hassle you on the street. Good wine, good food and the owner is a lovely man who will do his best to make your meal enjoyable. Sometimes you can catch him playing the piano on the ground floor.

“good food, excellent value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2011

We had beef pho and a stir-fried noodles. It's a small place but the owner and staff are friendly and the food is extremely good value for money. Would return for sure.
