We were very lucky to visit on a Monday night as we hadn't booked! Got a table no problems, for one of our 'top 10' meals of our four months in SE Asia, and most definitely Laos. Priced a bit beyond our 'backpackers' budget, so we had to limit ourselves to a bog-standard beer and just a main, but it was well worth it. My partner's buffalo and potato stew, Laos style, was outstanding and full of deep flavours, and my crispy rice dumplings and Laos pork sausage salad with coconut was just sublime. Beautifully balanced and really creative. A wonderful wonderful establishment!

On our first day in Vientiane we were recommended to try Makphet by some fellow travellers but disappointed to find it closed for staff training and booked for the evening too.
Next day we were lucky and had such a lovely lunch there that we went back for dinner too. Service is very good, there is an interesting and varied menu of food and drinks to suit all tastes and appetites and each dish was tasty and beautifully presented. Desserts were especially delicious.
It was particularly hot and humid while we were in Vientiane. There are fans inside, where we ate, but it was still quite warm. However, we were seated and welcomed immediately with refreshing cold water while we decided what to order and what better excuse is there for cocktails and beers to follow?
Do go there if you can - it's in a good cause too and don't forget to check-out the shop and the quirky, but spotlessly clean cloakroom too....!

Based on the tripadvisor reviews, four of us showed up without reservations for dinner. The place was packed and we were very politely but firmly told that there was no way they could feed us that night. We returned for lunch the following day and were seated promptly. Sat outside on their pleasant patio and watched the bustle of the street while we ate. Well worth a visit for the site, the cause and the food which was good and well presented.

We tried to get in on our first night but they were fully booked & also fully booked the following night. We booked in for our final night in Vientianne and it was definitely worth waiting for. Service is good but slow and the food was the best we had in Vientianne, definitely local and not catering for tourists!

We loved this place as we were served very tasty food in a comfortable, casual environment. Based on previous TripAdvisor reviews tried the eggplant dip which is fantastic, especially when washed down with ice cold beer Laos. We weren't too fussed on the beef rolls but everything else was so good, can't really complain.
