Wow this is like no other market, you have a lady having her hair washed next to pig trotters being sold, you turn a corner and there is a row of ladies sewing. There are lots of little gifts you can by and in the middle you can eat or buy any type of food you are after. I found it very funny that kids wanted a photo next to me as I was very tall. This is a must see

and that will be the focus for my review.
we found the cooked food section in the middle of the market and sat down on a couple of dodgy plastic chairs ordered a beer each and a plate of some sort of noodle with chicken dish.
OH MY GOD. About the best thing we ate in our 3 weeks through cambodia and thailand.
So tasty. it was just a fried noodle thing tossed in a wok, but it was great. Spicy and delicious.
And the best part. Two plates of ths and 2 Angkor beers. $5 u.s dollars.
can't go wrong.
Rest of the market was good and we had a great 2 hours. go there and get the noodle chicken thing.

If you are looking for good souvenirs at the good prices, you better ask your guide to bring you to other places. Or you better wait until you are in Siem Reap. This Russian Market is indeed a big market with varieties of goods, especially goods from China, but it is not the right place to buy good souvenirs at the good prices as they sell the goods in this market not cheap. This market is really overrated and will make us having much regrets later on .......

Of the markets I visited on my short trip to the city this one had the best prices for the same things being sold all over the city. My tuk tuk driver recommended it. Not disappointed with the deals. Narrow walkways, and a bit hot, not unlike the other markets. If you like a good deal you will walk away satisfied.

the place is like an oven, with its tiny lanes that 2 people can hardly get by
the same old cloths being passed off as just in,,overpriced and baddly made..
plenty of asian trinkets if thats what your into but really,,they are cheap muck
and everyone knows this,,,not worth the weight home..
outside the market there are cloths sellers that do seem to have a better selection
but ask the price and strait away your hit with $14 ,, aye right..same thing can be bought in a market in bangkok $6 ...
ive been going to this market for last 8 years and its got worse to the point i will not
be back..
there is no bargins here,,
i got shirts for $8 what the market traders wanted $14 for and beleave me they would only
drop the price to $13..
why would you let yourself be taken by this so called market
if you do feel the need to go ,,remember,,if its $15 you offer $5 or $6 then you bargin to an $8
no more or your just seen as a fool..
this is a market for barrangs ,,its expensive,, the khmers have very different markets they go to
watch out for pick pockets and there is a scam happening were someone will ask were your from and say they have someone known to them going there and want you to speak to them
..it happened to me but i was aware of it..theres more to it but say sorry and walk on...
i do hope this helps some of you...
