Our family stayed here on three seperate occasions on our way back and forth across Cambodia. It was clean, comfortable, the food was good and Gech (sp?) made various arrangements for us hassle free (bus tickets, tuk tuk and Vietnam visas).

I was not expecting much from this guest house due to its extremely cheap prices, & I was right not too! The accomodation is not actually at the Sunday Guest house, you stay in a guest house across the street (though everything is arranged at the Sunday Guest House site). We were on the top floor which apparently is considered the best place to be as it away from street noise & dust, but when you are carrying a back pack up there that is up for debate! The room was a good size with an ensuite bathroom & although basic could have been a excellent budget choice. However, it stank & EVERYTHING was FILTHY. I am not talking slightly grubby here, I mean it obviously hadn't been cleaned between guests or for months. Most apalling of all was that when I went to use the toilet (& remember this was an ensuite) I lifted the lid to find the toilet covered in, & full of, diarrhoea! I flushed the toilet & went to complain & to ask for the toilet to be cleaned (the offending substance had been there so long it had dried onto the toilet) & my key was duly taken away supposedly for this to be done (without any apology about the state of the room). Upon returning a few hours later we were given back our key, went to the room & found that they had done nothing about it. We also had problems when we found the plug was down in the sink with no way to get it up again, it took a member of staff around half an hr to retrieve it by plunging the sink vigourously. Had it not been late when we arrived I certainly would have asked for my money back (we had pre-paid) & looked for alternative accomodation. I would avoid this place at all costs.

I stayed there over Christmas for a couple of days. It is a nice guesthouse however my room was burgled while I was having dinner. I was flying out the next day so asked the hotel to call the police to report to theft and get a reference number, however the hotel gave me a number of stories ranging from we have our own security firm, the police don't work during lunch time, the police are on the way, the police need you to go to the station and it will take 3-5 days to get a reference number.

This was absolutely disgraceful, I recommend you stay somewhere else.

This is a good hostel. The rooms are a little small but for the price they are really good. The staff were really friendly and helped us book some onward travel. It is a little away from the main riverfront area where all the good bars and restaurants are but tis only a short taxi ride. If i had the choice I would try and find a place to stay near the riverside...but if you can't find anywhere there...the sunday guesthouse is a good palce to stay.

The Sunday Guesthouse in Phnom Phenn is a great little place, the Chinese family who run the guesthouse are lovely and so helpful.

The rooms were great for $6 per night, we had cable tv, en-suite bathroom and a fan in our room. The guesthouse was clean and had a huge balcony upstairs with leather setees and books to read. The food was lovely at this place and so cheap! there were free films shown every night at 7pm downstairs.

We also did a few tours with the guesthouse which were cheap and the driver who was the older brother was so friendly and spoke excellent English along with "Gech" the girl who runs the guesthouse. The guesthouse can also arrange visas, train tkts and plane tkts to other places in Vietnam and SE Asia at very reasonable prices.

I would recommend staying at this place if you a backpacker or on a budget.

Check out the "Friends" restaurant in Phnom Phenn its a great little place and supporting street children and funds a shelter for the kids to stay in!
