“Best Private Pool Room!”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

It is a really amazing boutique hotel. The ambiance itself offers such a relaxing feeling already once you set foot inside. They welcomed us with a yummy Cambodian dessert and a refreshing drink with scented cold towels, just what we really needed in the hot weather. The front desk people were very pleasing and are fluent in English. On top of the welcome drinks and the friendly faces, we also got a free massage in their beautiful spa room. I stayed there this week with my mum and I booked a room with a private pool. The pool was bigger than what I've expected! You can dive in it! Our room had a touch of modern and traditional Cambodia. It was very clean and well prepared. The welcome fruits were also very fresh!
The key to our room was broken but fortunately, it was handled swiftly by the maintenance in just 5 minutes! We also got try some very delicious canapés and Sangria since they needed to fog the place that time. We had a sumptuous breakfast! All of the food was cooked exactly the way we asked them to. The bar staff was very polite and courteous and assisted us in all our simple requests. It was hard to leave this place! will definitely come back.

stayed here 3 weeks ago and had a fabulous stay.
great staff, really helpful, fantastic location and a lovely cool oasis away from the noise and hustle of PP.
Except for the very loud Gekko, which the hotel can do nothing about we slept very well.
I am a Travel Agent in London and will recommend this every time.

This is the place to stay while in Phnom Penh! It has about everything. Great ambviance and good service. You enter into a fantastic lush and green garden with a small pool. By the pool there is a nice little cafe/restaurant where they serve the best breakfast. The fresh passion juice is legendary. The rooms are simple, clean and just what you need.
I can truly recommend this wonderful Phnom Penh hotel.

Just few words about the extraordinary experience we had over the past two days at Pavilion Hotel. The courtesy of the staff as well as their proactive attitude towards the guests and their worm sense of hospitality maid it unique. It definitely went beyond any expectations of Asian proverbial hospitality!

Stayed here 12 months after our last visit. Same room upstairs No. 15, which has a balcony.
I praised this establishment last year, and the standard hasn't dropped. Meals were excellent, drinks cold and prompt, and service top notch. Only gripe, poolside drinks and food seems to have had a 60% price rise on last year. Cheaper to go out and drink & eat.
Restaurants are only 15 minutes by foot away on the riverside, or 4 minutes by tuk tuk.
Still a great place to stay.

I've stayed at The Pavilion several times and it's always perfect. Great attention to detail, lovely pool, great food and the staff is amazing. I'll be back this year and I'm bringing people with me! I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Perfect boutique hotel refuge in the city.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are lovely.

So, so glad I found the Pavilion in a travel magazine before I planned my trip to Cambodia. It's a lovely oasis, perfect for a first stop after a long flight (or a quiet respite at the end of a busy trip). It's in a great location, walkable to the Royal Palace, the National Museum and plenty of restaurants and shops. It's a little pricier than most places in Cambodia, but certainly inexpensive when compared to the United States! Even if it's a splurge for you, you probably won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
