The minute you walk through the gate into the garden you leave the outside world behind. We booked a private room with pool and loved it. The rooms are spacious and clean and you feel like you are in a world of your own.

Good breakfast, friendly service, sparkling clean hotel.

It was also our honeymoon and we arrived to petals on the bed and a bouquet of roses. A beautiful touch.

Complimentary massage a lovely treat!

Tuk tuks always out front so no need to wander the streets if you want to save your feet :)

Don't stay anywhere else - you have to experience The Pavilion

Restaurant tip: get a tuk tuk and go to Friends and Romdeng - superb!

Room Tip: go for the private pool room

Intimate hotel, with 5* service from excellent and very professional staff. Gorgeous pool amidst tropical gardens, very tasty and large breakfasts by the pool, and good size room very tastefully decorated. An absolute joy.

My husband stayed here over NYE. We enjoyed our stay as it's a very nice little boutique resort. However our room on the ground floor certainly had it's share of noises from a gentleman (not hotel guest) neighbour hacking phlem all the time and a wild cat fight outside our door, However this was just the room we were in and it's location(I forget the number but it was on the ground floor. )Most of the staff were friendly but some at the main desk were a bit unfriendly at times.

Breakfast was lovely and so were the beds around the pool.

This place is amazing. It's friendly, private, relaxed and very affordable. We stayed in the deluxe private pool villa, it had a very nice decor and the private pool was pretty great. The staff are great, super helpful. Nice location, away from the sleaze of the riverside.

Absolutely the most friendly, relaxed and safe feeling place to be when travelling to crazy PP. Allowed us to check in super early when we arrived. Opted for the vintage jaguar pick up from the airport.....the best way to travel, getting to soak up the atmosphere of scooters and cars all driving on the wrong side of the road with seemingly no rules! The driver was awesome and even dons a pair of white gloves. Complimentary brekkie was v tasty.....except the quiche which was a bit odd! But then eating quiche for brekkie full stop is odd!
The pool area is spectacular, super clean and feels like being in the jungle - the gardens are so well kept.
Rooms are fairly small, but beds super comfy and covered in petals when we arrived. Good mozzie nets over a 4 poster in our room. Fresh fruit and flowers in the room on arrival. We had picked a package that included a bottle of fizz and a couple of massages. Massages were average. Even if you don't take a package you get a 25min massage for free....a nice touch.

And best of all! NO CHILDREN ALLOWED! Loved it. Feels truly relaxing without someone elses munchkins jumping in the pool, making noise and spoiling the serenity. I know some people find the no kids rule a bit offensive, but there's plenty of other hotels in this group that take kids for those who so wish.

We visited friends who live in Phnom Penh and they were surprized we were able to get into this hotel. The location was great, the hotel safe, clean and beautiful. A real gem. It was just wonderful to step into this oasis in the middle of a changing city. Cambodia has only been 10 years out of war. The prices in the country are equivalent to prices in the US 40 years ago.

Room Tip: We booked a room with a private pool but never used it. We are not big swimmers and I think it was a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
