We stayed in the Pavillion just for 1 night, the last of our holiday, would have stayed longer if I could.

Its amazing, its set in a French Colonial building and the gate opens to a lovely garden and its pool.
Our room was amazing, really nicely done and pretty. Huge bed and a seating area, huge bathroom.

Because we arrived at around lunch time we decided to seat by the swimming pool and have a light lunch overlooking the swimming pool. Food was superb, we had quiche and ravioli and fruit juices and it was really delicious.
We spent the afternoon by the swimming pool, just lying in the beds provided reading a book, and we’re given complimentary drinks. When we got to our room they had left fruit for us which was a nice touch.

We went out for dinner in Phnom Penh and the lady in reception gave us an hotel business card in both English and Khmer so tuk tuk drivers would have no difficulty finding it.

The morning after we had breakfast by the swimming pool and it was excellent, the best of the holiday. Tea, coffee, juice and a basket with freshly baked breads and pastries. We had omelette and pancakes and these were very very good.

Lovely hotel, really nice staff, perfect breakfast.
Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Hotel was amazing the staff were amazing. The massage on arrival free of charge is ideal after a day travelling. The food was simple but very nice. I would 100% go back to this hotel. If you get the chance stay their.

The city outside is brilliant, but a bit frantic at times and always a bit gritty. The Pavillion is calming and scrupulously clean, welcoming, and just what you need when you need to relax. It may not be quite the latest word in SE Asian hotel luxury, but the preservation and light-touch restoration of important old buildings is a virtue in itself (and a rarity in PP), and the whole ensemble is just lovely to come home to. Close to 240th Street; and pretty much everything else is walkable.

Just stayed 3 nights at the hotel after a long flight from the UK. We took advantage of the airport pick up in the Jag...really welcome after a long journey, chilled bottles of water whilst we watched the traffic chaos unfurl around us!

The staff were really helpful and friendly helping us get our bearings of the city, as well as what to expect, price wise, to pay for certain journeys/trips. It seems like they're happy to arrange most things for you which makes the world of difference when you're tired. Our room was massive with a separate lounge area, clean, nice shower, and complimentary water replenished everyday.

A large choice at breakfast, not buffet style, freshly prepared to order, the muesli was a particular favourite.

The hotel is a short walk to the Palace and the national museum, and a 5 minute Moto-Remok to the night market/ restaurants along the river front.

All-in-all thoroughly recommended, if slightly on the pricey side (but we've nothing to compare that with). We would definitely stay there again, in fact we tried to book our last night there but they were fully booked....I get the impression you need to book early.

Located on a quiet side street but just around the corner from the palace and national museum, this place is simply fantastic! Welcome drink and complimentary massage upon arrival, spacious rooms, friendly staff, tasty breakfast(not a buffet but you choose from a menu), good poolside restaurant. This is an old villa that used to house the former King's mother, and has only 20 rooms. Very quiet and peaceful, even though it's right in the center! A fabulous place to return to after a day out in Phnom Penh. The pool area is just beautiful, and again very quiet and relaxing because there are so few rooms. This is truly an oasis - and a haven of calm - in the city.

Room Tip: My room on the ground floor was a little dark, but I imagine that the rooms on the second floor are...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
