“Heart warming & caring service hidden in greens”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

Very quiet and serene atmosphere, spacious & graceful rooms. I loved the breakfast by the poolside in the shade of greens. Relaxing complimentary massage, I simply love the peaceful atmosphere.
The hotel is very secluded and almost hidden behind white walls and single wooden door. One may easily miss the hotel should you not be let in by ever watchful guards, but that is what makes this hotel so good and special!
Besides, I love the efficient service, warm hospitality of the stuff.
They are so caring and I'd list their service one of the best in the world (I have known The Oriental, The Peninsula, The Ritz, then The Regent etc,)

Small, clean, great location, easy walk to riverfront, great shopping on street 240, clean refreshing pool, yummy breakfast and best of all, great staff that took the time to have a chat and make you feel welcome. Lovely rooms too. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I had 3 different rooms over my 2 visits and all were spotless, spacious and beautifully, but simply...

I love their style; so beautiful & peaceful place for relaxing. We came to Phompenh 1 day before the election day so the traffic jam everywhere because of electoral campaign of parties. So we rather tired after long time stuck at the thousand people on the road and reach to the hotel at late night. We welcomed by the friendly receptionist with cold pineapple juice and cold tower. It’s made us feel better after long hours on the road. The room is elegant with jasmine flower on the bed and the beautiful net.

The only problem we got during stay is the bathroom, water flood on the bathroom’s floor after one of us had used it. We informed to the reception about this problem in the next morning and they promised with politeness that they will ask their staff to check and fix but the fact that this problem still couldn’t fixed until we check out.

The open air restaurant is great idea for dinner. Having dinner at the pool with candles is really romantic for couples.

Dear Guest, Many thanks for your kind review. Since you stay in July, right at the opening of the new wing, we have managed to solve all the drainage issues. I think it is fine now. Cheers, Alexis

Hidden behind high walls and a thick door off a busy street is this fab little hotel. We were greeted by friendly staff and walked through the fairly light-lit pool area to reception where we were given a refreshing drink and a cold towel whilst we waited to check in. The room was immaculate. Simple yet lovely... Complete with two large beds, safe, proper aircon and even a computer. The service was great throughout and they genuinely seemed to care about their guests. We were there during (peaceful) protests and they ensured we had someone take us to the point where our taxi was waiting on the other side of the blocked roads. Always a tuk tuk waiting outside to take you places, but right behind the royal palace and walking distance to the river. Would go back there in an instant and recommend to friends and family of all ages.

I'm adverse to the large hotel chains and fussy about getting that perfect mix of privacy, gardens and ambiance in the right location. This ticked all the boxes. Plus for most of my stay I had the pool to myself!

Room Tip: Decide if you want a modern room or the older, more authentic room (may come with chipped tiles but...

We are happy to sign up for their combo package during this season of September.
Service: exceptionally professional, warm, people friendly, fantastico
Ambiance: just in the midst of lush environs exuding serenity and oozing with essence of boutiqueness
Rooms: zest of fresh orangish scent wafts thru in the room that is so soothing and inviting....
Housekeeping: well maintained and appointed rooms in general

Improvements:
- Room( twin room) size is too small to even keep the simple luggage
- Toiletries: such as shaving kit/toothpaste can be placed in a tray in a corner

Overall: across touchpoints, its just fantastic experience.

I had the most wonderful time at the Pavilion.
It's a lovely place just behind the royal palace: peaceful, beautyful and relaxing.
The staff is sweet and friendly, efficient and very helpful. It was pure pleasure tour stay there.
I can highly recommend it to everybody!

Room Tip: I had the garden room, which ist the most affordable room. It has no view, but it has window-walls w...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
