We really enjoyed our stay at The Pavilion.. We had a private pool room which was amazing - definitely worth the extra dollars! The room was clean and comfortable though aging a little bit. It was nice having a computer in your room to catch up on all those emails! The main pool area was a really nice relaxing spot away from the hustle and bustle of Phonm Penh. Breakfast was great - they cooked eggs to order and there was also the usual fruits and bread. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the Royal Palace and you can easily walk to many restaurants and bars close by - though with the heat it's just as easy to get a tuk-tuk for a couple of dollars! Enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

We arrived late in the evening to this lovely small boutique hotel and received a wonderfully warm welcome and introduction to the hotel by Michelle at reception. She was so gracious and friendly whenever we encountered her during our stay. We were shown to our room, a private pool villa, and were pleased with what we saw. Whilst the room is not huge, it was adequate for us and had everything we required - comfortable bed, refrigerator, coffee and tea making facilities, standard toiletries etc. The pool and its courtyard were delightful. The in-room computer was certainly a bonus. With the extreme heat in Phnom Penh we really appreciated having a private pool to dip into at any hour of the day, especially late a night after our arrival and sometimes after dinner. We loved the quiet atmosphere around its public areas and the intimacy of the small complex. Staff were polite and greeted us whenever we encountered them during our stay. Phnom Penh is a busy, bustling, hot city and we found the Pavilion to be a peaceful haven to retreat to after sightseeing each day.

Room Tip: Private pool rooms are lovely and worth the few extra dollars.

We have travelled quite a lot over the past six years and our stay at The Pavilion was one of the most special we have had. It is very well located. You get the best of all worlds. Outside you experience the everyday life of Phnom Penh. In the evening local street cafes pop up with all the vibrancy of the life of the locals. You step inside the walls of the hotel and enter a little paradise. The pool area greets you and is just beautiful . Day beds, trees, plants, the bar/cafe is right beside. At night it twinkles with lights and candles. Truly beautiful. The staff is second to none. The most warm wonderful helpful people you would want to meet. We stayed in a room with a private pool, what a luxury after a hot day out and about. Breakfast by the pool is a perfect way to start the day. Fresh passion fruit juice, fruit plate, eggs, pancakes, tea, coffee, pastries. Can't imagine how anyone could not be satisfied with this! We also organised to do the sunset cruise on the Butterfly through the hotel an then booked into the restaurant associated with the hotel, Tempui, and had the most amazing evening. The cruise was wonderful, and the restaurant experience was outstanding. A beautiful building, first class service and a faultless meal. Highly recommend!!!!! My husband had the misfortune of tripping and cutting his arm while we were out one day and the hotel organised a visit to the clinic and were very concerned and attentive to his needs.
The hotel is a little worn, but really everything else about I is so wonderful it really doesn't matter. You will not be disappointed if you spend some time at the Pavilion.

Room Tip: A room with a pool. We were in room 31 but 14 next door was better set out as the doors actually opened onto the pool.

The hotel itself is a reformed mansion. It is located on a quiet street, near the Grand Palace and Silver Pagoda. The riverfront restaurants are not a quite distance, maybe a USD 2 by tuk-tuk.
We stood in the private pool room, which was awesome! The room is very well mantained, with some amenities. The quality of sleeping is very good. The breakfast is also good, but you have to be prepared for the asian food. As other hotels, the menus are very limited for western food, but it happened with ALL places we were on that trip.
The pool is very big (not just a jacuzzi) and surrounded by a very nice garden. The welcome massage is very nice and the staff is very warm. The hotel pool is nice, with a good pool service. We really liked and we sure will got back again some day!

Room Tip: The private pool rooms are trully nice!

Great location, next to the Palace and not far from the riverfront.

Breakfast by the communal pool – popular but not crowded – is OK. Bar snacks at other times will not trouble the Michelin inspectors. There's not much else to the communal area of the hotel so don't expect casinos and ballrooms. The massage included in the room rate was the best free one I had in Asia.

Kongkea on reception was the standout member of staff during our two stays (once with a private pool – a fun novelty and probably worth the $40 extra pn). She was so professional, intelligent, welcoming and fluent that other staff (most of whom were good) couldn't help but suffer by comparison. If I ran a place, I'd try to poach her.

I can't be bothered to look up other hotel rates but $60 for a room ($100 with private pool) strikes me as almost a bargain for PP. Only the churlish or extremely unlucky would be disappointed here.

Room Tip: Got an extra $40 in your pocket? Take a room with a private pool. Or save the cash and swim with everyone else.
