“Did not want to leave!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2011

This was my second time staying at the Pavilion and yet again I did not want to leave. This is truly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! The minute you walk in you feel relaxed and welcome. The staff are extremely friendly and went out of their way to help at various times. I rooms are divine with so many individual, exotic touches. Lazing by the beautiful pool, having a cocktail, I was in heaven. There is so many good things I can say about the Pavilion and I am defiantly going back. Thank you to all that make this place so beautiful. Oh and eating a delicious breakfast by the pool in the morning is a very nice way to start the day.

Room Tip: Book early. Upstairs rooms are especially nice.

The Pavilion is one of the best place to stay in Phnom Penh. Firstly, because it's a very quiet place even thought Phnom Penh is a noisy city. Secondly, the location of the Pavilion is very good because you're near the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda and the Mekong. So you can start a visit trip very easily. Thirdly, the staff is very kind and try to do his best all the time so that's very nice. In conclusion, I would like to say Thank you because my trip in Phnom Penh was excellent thanks to the Pavilion. I was delighted to stay there.

The only thing we regret about staying at The Pavilion was that we could only stay for two nights. Next time, we'll book for a week at least!
We stayed in one of the private pool rooms and it was heavenly to come back to our retreat after a day exploring Phnom Penh and take an evening swim, It really felt like our own little oasis in the heart of the city.
It was our 10-year anniversary and the staff knew this and ever so kindly created a heart of rose petals on our bed the first night and left red roses in a vase in the room. It was really sweet of them and just one example of how the staff at this hotel go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. They were also fantastic with organising airport transfers, bus tickets to Siem Reap and helped with directions and restaurant recommendations.
The room was cosy and comfortable with everything you need for a pleasant stay and the art deco hotel was beautiful with lush, tropical gardens and main swimming pool.
We'll certainly be back.

One of the most amazing places I have stayed in. The staff couldn't have done more for us. Sitting by the pool was so relaxing and was so close to attractions and amazing restaurants. The bar food was A+, the rooms were clean and the hotel is safe. Would recommend to any of my friends and I can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Any room in the main building.

... check the pictures! no, that was not our private pool, it's the hotels, but all three rooms we stayed were amazing. N° 7 is the one overlooking the garden, but throughout our two-weeks stay in Cambodia we managed to return to this lovely hotel three times, and they've always been up to the praising reviews that made them one of the best in PP. The hotel is just 5 mins away from the riverside and the Royal Palace, but at the same time tucked away behind walls, which makes it a wonderful place to relax after a hot day in the capital. The staff is very professional, the setting is very atmospheric, rooms are gorgeous, the welcome drink is refreshing... what else do you need to know? ah, you get plenty of free internet there, and the breakfast is great too! (P.s. it is true beds are a bit hard, but it's like that all over Asia so just bear with it...). Enjoy, we did...

The Pavilion was our last stop on our travels through Cambodia and Vietnam. The staff was gracious and welcoming - making sure to point out the quirks in the rooms like the amount of time it takes for the water to heat up due ot the solar power. The beds are a little hard - I liked it - my husband not so much. I view that as a personal taste issue

The included breakfast was amazing and I am still dreaming of their pineapple jam. Of all the hotels we stayed in - this one had the most character (and I mean that in a very good way). The grounds are stunning and they have truly made the most of a beautiful building. The location was excellent - just a couple of blocks from the Silver Pagoda and National Palace. I definately recommend the Pavilion and plan ot return on my next visit to Phenom Penh.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
