“It's okay, busy, with a happy vibe, but nothing really special”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

I had 2 nights here on a business trip. Nice spacious room with a huge comfortable bed and enormous bath. Everything was clean on the surface, but underneath it all felt a bit tired and grubby, in need of redecoration and modernizing. There's some evidence of this in the bathroom, but I can understand the problem that if you modernize a place like this, it'll lose some of its character which is part of the attraction of staying here.

The bar & restaurant were busy both nights, the menu quite varied and the portions huge (but I'm not a big eater).
It's worth a stay if you want to for the sake of the name and a view over the river (if you get one), but there's quieter, cleaner and better lodgings in Phnom Penh for .

Room Tip: Higher floors away from the street noise

After many trips to Cambodia, I finally got the opportunity to visit the famed FCC. The staff are friendly, good food and a great happy hour experience. Good menu, very tasty food, one of the safer wears yearn joints in town

This was our second visit to FCC. Our 1st time 3 years ago it was great. Very clean with great service and & friendly atmosphere.

This time around it just wasn't the same sadly. It was grubby and definitely in need of some renovation. & TLC. No-one came to serve us as we sat at the balcony so my husband made his way to the bar for drinks. He said it was untidy & dirty behind the bar and when he asked for 7up or sprite was told there was none. Another staff member overheard and went and got some so not sure if the tender couldn't be bothered or genuinely thought there was none.

We expected better based on our last visit and the prices which are considerably higher than most places along the quay.

The views are great though, it is enjoyable watching life along the riverside.

We're glad you visited FCC and left this review. We hope you'll email us with specifics of your experience at linda@fcchotels.com so we can respond more directly. We would like to offer you our apologies for the delays in service. It appears that you visited us during one of our busiest days of the year. While this does not excuse the poor service, it has been a learning experience and we look forward to evolving our practices in the near future to accommodate. We had a lovely room overlooking the river.
Very stylish.
Good b/fast & dining room/terrace has great character, over-looking the river.
Food is so-so; salads were good but rest was a little pre-prepared, you know, processed.
Good crowd in the evenings.

Room Tip: Don't get the room in the annexe.

Ok, we didn't stay here, but we did enjoy happy hour here. Probably enjoyed it a little too much, but this place was a lovely spot for a drink on a hot afternoon. Sat up on the rooftop, had "buy one, get one" drinks, and enjoyed the lovely view of the river! Great little spot!

FCC in siem reap is much better than this. Dingy and dark entrance, all tables reserved at window for tour group that arrived as we left. Staff serious looking, all dressed differently so not that obvious who was who. Needs some style and a bit of a clean up. Views of River not that amazing.

Dear TadgeHongKong,

Thank you for your review. Since your writing, we actually have already renovated the reception area to make it brighter and more inviting, so thank you for your comment. You will also be glad to hear that our staff are all receiving standard uniforms over the next week, which will decrease the confusion in the restaurant. We are glad you enjoyed the food, however, and look forward to seeing you again soon!

This is a nice boutique hotel, bar, restaurant along the river front of Phnom Penh. The floors are a beautifully shiny teak, or some other kind of very dark hard wood. There are only 10 rooms, and most face the street which means vehicle noise for most of the night. The good thing is that it has WiFi and air conditioning. Most people come just to sit at the bar, which overlooks the river. The food is nothing to shout about, but it's okay. On week-ends it's very crowded and noisy, and can take around 30 minutes just to place an order.

Room Tip: If you book through a special deal online place, it's pretty much luck of the draw, around $60/n...

Dear NickiG555,

We truly appreciate your review of FCC Phnom Penh and are glad you visited us. We value everyone's experience and truly appreciate the feedback given to us regarding your time spent at our hotel and restaurant.

When it comes to our restaurant, it is true that it can be a busy place, but that is no excuse for a very long wait. We have heard from you and others on some wait times for placing and receiving orders and our management team is actively working to fix this issue. We hope you'll return soon and have a better experience. Also, thank you for your comments on the rooms. Despite the reality of the noise of the riverside, we put in our best efforts to make the rooms the nicest they can be for our guests.

Best wishes and see you soon!
