FCC in siem reap is much better than this. Dingy and dark entrance, all tables reserved at window for tour group that arrived as we left. Staff serious looking, all dressed differently so not that obvious who was who. Needs some style and a bit of a clean up. Views of River not that amazing.

Dear TadgeHongKong,

Thank you for your review. Since your writing, we actually have already renovated the reception area to make it brighter and more inviting, so thank you for your comment. You will also be glad to hear that our staff are all receiving standard uniforms over the next week, which will decrease the confusion in the restaurant. We are glad you enjoyed the food, however, and look forward to seeing you again soon!

This is a nice boutique hotel, bar, restaurant along the river front of Phnom Penh. The floors are a beautifully shiny teak, or some other kind of very dark hard wood. There are only 10 rooms, and most face the street which means vehicle noise for most of the night. The good thing is that it has WiFi and air conditioning. Most people come just to sit at the bar, which overlooks the river. The food is nothing to shout about, but it's okay. On week-ends it's very crowded and noisy, and can take around 30 minutes just to place an order.

Room Tip: If you book through a special deal online place, it's pretty much luck of the draw, around $60/n...

Dear NickiG555,

We truly appreciate your review of FCC Phnom Penh and are glad you visited us. We value everyone's experience and truly appreciate the feedback given to us regarding your time spent at our hotel and restaurant.

When it comes to our restaurant, it is true that it can be a busy place, but that is no excuse for a very long wait. We have heard from you and others on some wait times for placing and receiving orders and our management team is actively working to fix this issue. We hope you'll return soon and have a better experience. Also, thank you for your comments on the rooms. Despite the reality of the noise of the riverside, we put in our best efforts to make the rooms the nicest they can be for our guests.

Best wishes and see you soon!

Went for drinks and lunch. Loved the sense of age / history and has a great view if the river with large open windows. Also has large comfortable arm chairs perfect for catching up on emails while having a cool drink, and there is a rooftop sitting area, altho didn't investigate. We found the food to be quite good - I had a Khmer-style stir fried seafood rice that was very good (much better than a similar dish the night before at one of the riverfront restaurants). Drinks/food not cheap, but would definitely come again!

I enjoyed the drinks in happy hours, we did not try the food.
The atmosphere seemed ok and the staff were friendly & fast.
The view is of the river is ok but I warn you that Phnom Penh riverside is not that impressive. (It is not yet a luxury city with amazing views). I would go back again

Hello levinson,

Thanks for checking out FCC and the riverside. We hope you'll be back soon to enjoy more drinks and food. The amazing thing about Cambodia is how fast it's changing. In a blink of an eye, the Riverside will look much different than we remember.

Like all tired old tarts, this one has heaps of personality!!!!location is great with all the tourist attractions very close. Tuk Tuks at the door and most drivers speak enough English to get by. Wonderful two floors of open air, dining, bar and people watching with incredibly good and well presented food.when busy it is very busy and service can be a bit touch and go, we Didn't find it so.staff were so friendly and helpful. Reception staff were there to help, and they did. It's a wonderful place to stay with heaps of history and charm.HOWEVER,,, front rooms overlooking the Mekong are noisy with road traffic. They do have wonderfully large, shady balconies.Back rooms are a bit small but quiet. Bathrooms are large with heaps of hot water, but not well thought out. This is a building that has had a lot of face lifts. Accept it, wrinkles and all and your life will be richer!

We went for drinks and found a couple of seats overlooking the main street and beach. Great location to watch the Vietnamese world go by. It's probably past it's sell by date and the atmosphere is a bit lacking nut a great place for a couple of drinks or cocktails. Comments from people around us on the food weren't great so we moved on and ate elsewhere. Go there and have a couple of drnks and then move on.

Dear donmacintyre1954,

Thank you for stopping in and visiting FCC Phnom Penh. We are very glad you enjoyed our drinks. As we are always striving to offer the best food and beverage service available in the city, we are happy to hear you enjoyed what we had to offer. Also, while we understand that some visitors have varying tastes and may not like the cuisine we offer, we assure everyone that only the highest quality dishes are served.

Next time you visit, we encourage you to try some of our food--even if it's just a side dish--so you can get a sense of our menu. We recommend the traditional Fish Amok, which is a local favorite, or the Pad Thai, one of our signature dishes we have taken great effort in making.

Thank you for your feedback and as always, thank you for visiting FCC.

History of places such as FCC tends to keep standards high. Imagine Cipriani in Venice or Harry's bar just saying sod it we are gonna rely on bad guide books who mention how during the Viet war years this was the place. Now it's a joke, a bad joke considering the reviews from the days gone by. Please avoid and better still avoid all Sisoquath Quay bs restaurants. They cater to the disinterested who just follow the madding crowd. Nothing was redeeming. Food bog standard, inflated prices, bad service and the greatest tell of all....only the tourists would eat this swill. Not a Khmer in site eating.

Dear Arsenal14_12,

We are truly sorry you did not find our restaurant up to your expectations. While we do cater to a variety of audiences, including tourists, we also open our doors to more types of people, particularly with our local events. If you ever visit us again, please take time to visit our colonial Mansion music venue (behind FCC Phnom Penh) where you can enjoy some Cambodian or Western music, lounge drinking, and arts performances. Any additional feedback or suggestions you have can be sent to linda@fcchotels.com. We take all feedback seriously and your review and further feedback are all highly valued. Thank you!
