We stayed at "Palace View" room, an annex. Nice view from the room, and it was a perfect place to be in Phnom Penh for new year's eve.
We enjoyed seeing fire works from the roof terrace.
There was a security guard on the street only for the room at night time.
Nice breakfast served at FCC bar as well. (You can have it in the room as well.)

However, a few unpleasant things happened during our stay.
1. Our iphone, which we accidentally left in the room, was stolen!!
House keepers and receptionist said "We cannot find it" and that was it.

2. The room smelled like sewer water...
House keeper burns incense everyday in the evening, so its get better for a while.
But the smell continuously comes out from pipes in the bathroom...

Except these 2 events, we were happy about their service.
The bar FCC is worth visiting.

Stayed here for three night during July 2011. Room was good but waaay over priced. Staff were no where to be seen. I like when you know the staff are there if something goes missing or there's an emergency.
Upstairs is the bar area. Drinks are cheap. We checked out and headed up to ankgor for a couple of days to do the temples. We intended to return 2 days later but they refused to book us in. I forgot 50 dollars in the room and when I ran back up the cleaning lady said she never saw it. As Cambodia is developing there are more and more mOdern hotels available and surprisingly all with free wifi. We returned from ankgor which was amazing and stayed in the modern blue lizard hotel. Pm me if anyone needs any other tips.

We went here for dinner and it was great food with an extensive menu- loads of choice. Excellent view over the water and indoor/outdoor feel. A nice stop in Phnom Penh.
We also stopped for lunch in the cafe downstairs which is also owned by them, and that was good too with free wi-fi and good coffee!

I stayed here for a few days and decided to move on to a better (and cheaper) hotel with decent amenities and security. Overall the room was good and spacious however for the price paid there is much better value nearby. The bar and restaurant are also on the expensive side for Phnom Penh and it seems the throng of tourists keep the prices up. You only need to cross the road and you can find better food and service for almost half the price. I think the FCC take it for granted that people go there and hence the service and prices go with that attitude. The security is very lacking and there is an air of concern when staying there as the place is an icon for touts and some pretty dodgy people after dark.

A couple of things disappointed us about FCC but it is a hard to beat location with some very nice features. The bar and restaurant areas are fabulously located over two open air floors naturally cooled by the breeze off the river. The service in these areas is disappointing - with a couple of exceptions there was a surliness and jaded attitude amongst the staff. We stayed 4 nights and felt no attempt by the staff to recognize or acknowledge us. We often had to seek service by signaling - even then it reluctant.
The rooms we had were large and well air conditioned.
Overall it was a great location and the character of the place was special. If they swapped the surly restaurant staff with the enthusiastic tuk tuk drivers - who did bother to remember us and where always smiling - it would be an improvement.

Room Tip: There are only a few rooms. We had Ta Prohm which was the biggest.

Stayed here for two nights late November 2011. I had visited PP before and decided I would stay here for a bit of a splurge after long flights from Europe via Bangkok. It's probably a bit overpriced but its got a great location and it oozes with character.

Again its a restaurant/bar with attached accommodation, not a hotel.

If you can, stay in one of the six rooms in the main building rather than the annex. I had the standard Banteay Srey room overlooking the National Museum. It was commodious, and clean.

The breakfast was fantastic. Try the Eggs Benedict.

Treat yourself.

Room Tip: In the main building not the annex

The Phnom Penh Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC for short) is a great spot at the heart of the Phnom Penh riverside district. The FCC bar and restaurant, which sprawls over two levels of a restored colonial building offering sweeping views of the river and national museum, is a Phnom Penh institution. It is one of the best spots in town for sundowner drinks, and sitting by the rail with a beer in hand watching the boat traffic on the river was a highlight of our visit.

As well as the iconic bar, the FCC also has some very good rooms - which are more like separate apartments loosely attached to the main FCC building. We stayed in the 'Directors Apartment', which turned out to be a two bedroom apartment in a building two doors down from the FCC building. It had more than we expected: a separate sitting room with flat-screen TV, balcony with views over the river, a well set-out bathroom (with great water pressure - a rarity in these parts!) and WIFI and a fantastic breakfast included. At $100/night, it was slightly more expensive than some other options, but in our view it was well worth the extra few dollars (the smaller rooms are a bit cheaper if you don't want two bedrooms). We had no problems with noise, and loved the location by the river and around the corner from the royal palace. All in all, a great option for a stay in Phnom Penh!

Room Tip: The Directors Apartment is the largest room - two double bedrooms, with a balcony overlooking the ri...
