Unfortunately when I arrived at the hotel I had a bad viral infection and they were fantastic.

The staff took me to my room, took my passport off me which I didn't even remember but made every effort to look after me. In a lessor hotel they could have taken advantage but they were very professional. They arranged a clinic for me to get to for blood tests and were constantly available. It was at the end of the quiet season so maybe they had time on their hands but everything was great. Really nice big room, very clean with all the amenities you require.

Room service was limited but again being in the quiet season what can you expect?

Due to my condition I didn't get to the spa but had a look round and was impressed.

Phnom Penh can be a little intimidating upon arrival but I didn't encounter any problems.

Fun city with something for everyone and a good hotel to base it from.

Let me start with the reason that I didn't rate "service" is because the hotel ran with a really minimal staff because of the National Holiday at the time we stayed here, where most of non-native population of the large cities return home. For this reason, I didn't want to evaluate a non-typical experience. The hotel was quite nice, though a little hard to find due to power cables covering up the name on the outside. The room was large, very clean, the bed very comfortable by western standards, and the bathroom was very nice also. The view (we faced the back) was non-existent, at least from the 3rd floor. With our room next to the elevator however, we frequently heard the elevator "ding", but nothing that woke us. Now for the spa, my wife and I both tried the "shoulder and back massage" and it was phenomenal! We both walked out of the spa wishing we had time to do that again, and for longer - we nicely tipped the masseuses. The spa was well laid out and very relaxing. From the hotel's location, the tuk-tuk ride to the Royal Palace and river front was only a few minutes.

Lastly, because the hotel restaurant was closed during our stay (again due to our timing) we ventured out around the corner to the "Orchidee Restaurant" (different from "L'Orchidee Restaurant" listed on this site) - at the corner of Pasteur (51) and Street 208 - and had an amazing dinner at an amazing price.

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. First impression of Phnom Penh was a bit scary as we were already a bit concerned whether the hotel will be safe and clean. When tuk-tuk turned in front of the hotel we were relieved because it seemed really nice. Service was good, however some employees did not speak English that well. But it didnt matter because everyone was super friendly and offered us big smiles. One day we wanted to go to the spa but realized it was too early as spa was open in another 1.5 hours. Employees managed to ask the masseurs to come earlier which they did. We were impressed by their level of responsiveness!

Rooms clean, breakfast good and service excellent!

The superior room I stayed on the 5th floor was well furnished, comfortable & clean. Friendly & attentive staff with good command of English. Good & tasty breakfast spread. The hotel is quite centrally located and within walking distance to various attractions like National Museum, Royal Palace & Independence Monument. Good restaurants are also close-by.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors and away from the lift are quieter.
