In the perfect position for exploring Phnom Penh by foot, tuk tuk or taxi, Hotel Nine is a cool oasis offering friendly service, great food and happy hour cocktails around it's refeshing pool. The staff are very professional and attentive. Breakfast buffet is delicious, fresh and substantial. The clean rooms open on to large shared verandahs ( some with laptops for your use) with comfy lounges.
ACon and fans work beautifully. Comfy beds, a room safe and boutique style hospitality complete the picture.

Initially I booked just 3 nights as it looked too good to be true (also, I wasn't really sure of my plans in Phnom Penh), but extended it by another 2 nights because it was all just spot on for my needs.

I found it a perfect combination of a side-street location, walking distance to key tourist attractions and the river, or short tuk-tuk ride ($2) to the very centre (which is too noisy for my liking).

There are a couple of fantastic restaurants nearby (a high quality Khmer/Vietnamese "Ngon Restaurant" and an Asian/Japanese "Shabu Shabu" DIY-soup/sushi-buffet place extremely popular with local white collar workers as well as families - and not a tourist in sight! (I will review these separately, click on my profile, if interested).

The hotel is a low rise, white building with big, modern rooms and bathrooms (super clean and good selection of toiletries).

Breakfast relatively limited but fresh and tasty (and on 2 out of the 4 breakfasts my sunny-side-up eggs, which i like very soft but none of that raw white film.. - were absolute perfection!).

Lovely communal areas, big white sofas with fans above them, great ambiance in the evening thanks to the many candles lit all over the place in the evenings.

Excellent mini bar selection, inc. local spicy peanuts snacks, in addition to the drinks and complimentary water. Also loads of small shops and street vendors selling all the necessities.

The only minus I can think of is the size of the pool, which is small, but on my visit I had it all to myself so no complaints.

All in all - a highly recommended place for a relaxing stay.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, choose a higher floor (2 or 3) facing away from the main street, as the...

Hi There,

Thanks so much for taking the time to submit a review of Hotel Nine.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. The idea behind Hotel Nine was to provide an oasis where you can relax and escape the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh.

The pool is certainly not huge but again the idea was to have the pool as a place where you could relax after a long day sight seeing and enjoy a cocktail!!

Look forward to welcoming you to Hotel Nine again on your next visit to Phnom Penh

We stayed here for 3 nights and really liked this place. The rooms have been nicely done and aren't too small. The beds are pretty firm but no worse than some we've stayed in so far. The pool was lovely though, a great way to relax at the end of a long day sightseeing. The food was good and reasonably priced. The only gripe we had was the noise early in the morning from outside the hotel, bring ear plugs if your a light sleeper!

Cute little hotel with friendly helpful relaxed staff, good location, good breakfast (though no frills), nice little pool and great wifi.
Rooms are rather basic though in terms of material selections and workmanship, e.g. you can see the daylight around the edges of the door and the windows are not soundproof enough either. The street outside is a busy lively back street which is very charming but unfortunately hosting barking dogs that might then keep you awake.
All in all - solve the soundproofing and it is a true hidden gem in Phnom Penh!

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms at the end having windows against the back street.

Hi There,

Thanks so much for taking the time to submit a review of Hotel Nine.

Unfortunately the skill level of Cambodian workers is not as good of those in the west! We are continuing to fix very minor issues like sealing around the doors and believe we have solved all of the issues now.

As for the street noise, normally we do not find this a problem, being on a very central street so close to the action from time to time we experience minor noise issues.

Thanks again for the review and we hope to see you again when you next visit Phnom Penh.

Stayed at Hotel-Nine with a couple of girlfriends during a holiday in PP.From the initial booking to the actual stay everything was really well organised.
The hotel itself is located in a super convenient location near the Independence Monument and also a really safe location.
Once behind the white fence , the hotel is a little oasis! A pool with a little cafe greets you and then upstairs to the rooms.Everything is new and looks lovely! The breakfasts were great, as was the menu that was available during the day and night. The frozen margarita's were particularly divine.
The rooms are simple, stylish and have everything you could need. The hot water works! No weird plumbing here!
The owners and their staff went out of their way to make our stay easy and restful. One small thing was we were able to have all our washing done at the hotel so returning home with a suitcase full of clean clothes was a pleasant bonus. They went above and beyond in so many ways to make our stay easy!
I would highly recommend this boutique hotel - a little oasis in a safe and convenient location.

When we checked in we were given a room on the first floor, which didn't really appeal to us. However, when we asked to change rooms, the staff were very eager to accommodate our request. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and provided fantastic customer service. We had to leave early one morning for a tour and asked if we could take breakfast before serving hours, and they said it was no problem at all. Our room was spacious, clean, and minimally decorated in a tasteful way. It was nice to lounge in the pool after a day of touring around too. The location meant that the big tourist areas are easy to get to via tuk-tuk. The staff helped us arrange a pickup from the airport, and tuk-tuk rides for our stay in Phnom Penh.
