Description: DID - Dine in the Dark is a fine dining restaurant in which there are no lights inside the dining room. This pitch-dark restaurant provides guests a chance to discover Khmer, international and vegetarian dishes without seeing them, thereby heightening all non-visual senses in an elegant fashion. All dishes offer a surprising selection of tastes and textures, and by revealing the dishes only after dinner, DID - Dine in the Dark provides the opportunity to indulge in a culinary guessing-game. The restaurant also has a social purpose at the core of its business model, as it employs a team of talented visually-impaired to work as members of its service team. It thereby creates equal employment opportunities for the visually impaired in Cambodia while raising awareness about their professional skills. DID - Dine in the Dark is the perfect place for couples, friends, and groups to experience an enjoyable new world of sensations and discover social enterprises in a whole new way.

My husband and I love food and wanted to try something different in Phnom Penh. What an experience DID was! For us, eating in complete darkness was a bit confronting to begin with, but once you got started it gave you the opportunity to truly appreciate each mouthful and flavour. The meals were delicious and the waiters were fantastic. Would highly recommend for a truly different and satisfying experience!

This was one of the most unique dining experiences I’ve ever had - being seated in a room and having a three-course meal in complete darkness. All of the waiters are visually impaired and direct you to your seats in the dark. You are able to choose your menu - international, Khmer, chef’s choice, or vegetarian - but you have no idea what you are served until after the meal. The food was very good, and our group had a good time trying to figure out what we were eating during the meal. A great experience and an adventure!

Dining in the dark was such a surreal experience. My partner and I had heard about this place and had to come. It is something you have to experience to understand it. The food was amazing as you have to use all of your other senses to figure out what you are eating. It definitely allowed us to experience how it feels to be blind (obviously not to the complete extent). I think we left the restaurant feeling sympathetic, as well as appreciative and super impressed. This is a must do, I could not recommend it any more!!

I was so impressed with the staff being able to make us feel completely comfortable in the pitch black, which I imagine is hard enough on it's own, let alone in your second language.
The food we had was all either very good or excellent- fresh flavours and beautiful textures and the delicious smells were appreciated even more for not being able to see the food!

Wasn't too sure if I'd like this but would absolutely recommend it. Some reviewers
seem surprised to have found themselves in the pitch black...surely if you expect one thing of this place...
