“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2013 via mobile

We went to Wat Phnom after leaving s21, it was a very peaceful place to visit after learning of the horrors of s21. The monks were playing music and chanting inside the temple, it was fantastic experience and I found it very moving.

“Small and not very exciting”

Whilst architecturally of note, this temple is nothing compared to the wonder of Angkor Wat. A little disappointing overall.

“Average and $1 entry for foreigners”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013 via mobile

This 'wat' is worth stopping by and taking a few photos but aside from the nice architecture there is little to see. The sign by the entrance made us smile, $1 entrance fee for foreigners (free for the locals!). Worth stopping by, particularly if you have paid a tuktuk driver for a day and want to see some of the sights

“Free for Cambodians; foreigners pay a dollar”

Came here early in the morning to meditate and explore. It was a nice experience. Loop around and make sure to stop inside the big temple and offer a prayer and gifts to Buddha.

“needs a good scrubbing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013 via mobile

Perched on top of a hill in the middle of a small park in the city, Wat Phnom takes about 15 minutes to walk through and see. I saw it the day after a city-wide festival, and maybe this explains why there was so much garbage strewn around the place. Regardless, I think the Buddhist monks who use these places might want to do a little less praying and studying, and ought to spend a little more time keeping their historical and religious sites clean and kept-up. Cost to me was $1 entrance fee.
