got dropped off by a tuk tuk driver after going round central market as not impressed, so thought this would be better. just looked at the long snake statue thing around the entrance and not much impressive things to look at, as one would not expect much from phnom penh. after all, it's free entrance to most of the things, unless u wanna pay 1 buck for getting into some parts for worshipping

It is a relaxing place, fairly quiet with some nice traditional live music inside the temple. Only $1 admission. Not many kids selling stuff this time, I hope they are in school.

We visited this Wat because it was just around the corner from where we were staying at The Sangkum. Outside people are selling song birds to release (I am told they are trained to return). There are people cooking and selling all sorts of food, people hanging out washing, monks wandering around and tourists getting in the way.

Lacks the impact of the other Wats that are around.

The location is quite nice - up a small hill so you get some views of PP. Nice large clock on the hillside and an interesting latice work Naga. Really not that memorable apart from the that. Felt like is was a 'tick off the list' visit rather than something that was truely interesting and spectacular to see.

Wat Phnom is full of street vendors and even has an elephant. It's a fun park like environment where you can relax and enjoy the scenery. You can hike up to the wat at the top and go to the museum as well. Be sure to ride the elephant! Foreigners and Cambodians go here, so if you want to meet some locals you can make new friends and learn about the culture.
