“a great long walk from the riverside area.”

I enjoyed the route from Riverside, to the Moneument. It weaves past the Royal Caste and the wide Blvd. where the Monument stands is landscaped well, and attracts many strollers and community activities.

“Good architecture but not much else”

Was on a trike ride, we did two circuits, and that was it. Yes it is impressive monument and should be seen.

“Traffic island art”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

I appreciate that this commemorates a significant moment in Cambodian history but you'll probably see it out of the window of a cab and that's about as close as you need to get. If you're in Phnom Penh for more than a few hours you'll see it so you don't have to go out of your way. Looks much better at night all lit up.

“Nice photo stop”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

Important monument in the history of modern Cambodia so worth a visit. Lit up at night so perhaps better photos in the evening. Other than that, it's a box ticked and back in the tuk tuk.

Lovely and surrounded by parks. A great place to take a photo at on a sunny day with your family and maybe your tuktuk driver.
