Spent a great afternoon going through the central market! It is incredibly big so you can get lost quite easily (as I did :) ) I found it better than the Russian market - with loads more on offer. Could definitely barter and get a better price for most items, so don't pay first price. Put a side a half to full day to get through it.

Excellent markets. Visited the Russian markets inthe morning and was so disappointed, went to the Central Markets in the afternoon and was really impressed. Really good layout, lots of rip off gear, LV, Gucci handbags etc, prices are ridiculously inflated but haggle hard and you willget them down to next to nothing. At one stallthelady wanted $55 for a LV handbag, i got her down to $10. Food is really good here too. As far as markets go this is definately one of the best i have been to.

Architecturally striking and a great place to shop, for fish, seafood, local and imported fruit and vegetables, clothes (including T-shirts), kitchen equipment, gold, books, copy watches, electrical appliances, etc, etc and etc.

I found the prices were not good and they did not want to barter in fact sometimes quite rude, the take it or leave attitude was quite prevalent only when I found some stalls at the back where they were selling the fish and fruit did I manage to do business.

great building and location. Shopping is pretty much same same as the rest of PP, clothes, souvenirs, shoes and jewellery. Still worth a stroll through but barter hard and be prepared to walk away. Prices have gone up significantly in the last 2 years, especially gold and silver
