Prepare for a quite 40 minute ride back to your hotel. You can't help but be silenced by the horror stories told and seen on the grounds of those killing fields.

30 minute Tuk Tuk ride, $5.00 entry includes tape in any language. Tape is well done, survivor stories, follow numbered signs and look at holes in ground where graves were found. Devastating and overwhelming sad, and as yet, an unfinished story. Even so not enough history of Cambodia before this sadness, or why, but maybe that's because truth and freedom are dangerous as yet. If you want the emotional impact, go; if you want the history, read a book.

The audio tour was really beautiful. I am not normally a fan of such tours, but this was really well done. The narrator had a beautiful voice and his tone was just right for the place and the terrible tales he was recounting. it certainly wasn't an enjoyable experience - it really brought the horrors of the Khmer Rouge out for all to see and hear. However, the fields are (now) also a place of beauty, peace and reflection. I took my teenage sons - It was an overwhelming experience for us all. However I think it is such an important piece of Cambodia's history that it is important for every foreigner (except perhaps small children) to visit. When you see what has been their recent history, it helps you understand the country and the people better as you travel through Cambodia

This place is not for the weak. Bone fragments and clothes of bodies of those who was murdered here are still visible in places. Audio tour in several languages is available at the entrance (included in entrance fee), and is really useful in understanding the background for events which took place here.

The road to Choeung Ek is a little bumpy and very dusty, so some kind of scarf is useful to have if you come here by tuk-tuk.

No trip to PP is complete without a visit here. Very sad but a must. Easy to get tuk tuk out there, would highly recommend it.
