This hotel is a gem. We stayed one night in Phnom Penh en route from HCM city to Siem Reap. After a long bus ride we were looking for a comfortable place to relax before the next day's bus ride. The Billabong Hotel is like a mini resort hidden away in the big city. The rooms were clean and spacious, the pool area is incredible and the food is fantastic. We arrived in the later afternoon and asked for tickets to Siem Reap for early the following morning- not an easy request since we were there for the New Year holiday. The front desk was more than helpful and worked hard to book us tickets within our price range. Would highly recommend staying in this hotel just for the pool!!!

This hotel is fantastic, an oasis in hot, dry, busy Phnom Penh. Great value for money, a fantastic pool and bar area and the friendliest staff who will help you out with whatever you need. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed 5 nights in a family room while exploring Phnom Penh. Fantastic place to base yourself to explore this city. Very clean and tidy. Excellent pool and setting to escape the heat. Room was simply but tastefully furnished. Air conditioning very effective and quiet. The food is ok, there are better options elsewhere, however it is handy if you dont feel like heading back out after a day of exploring, and it is reasonably priced. Billabong Hotel provides an excellent and comfortable value for money accommodation option in PP.

Room Tip: poolside rooms on the second floor best in the newly refurbished wing

Booked a standard double pool side room and was upgraded on arrival to the superior pool side room. Thanks Billabong that was great. Very spacious, comfortable bed, good wifi and air conditioning. Pool was excellent to cool off in the summer heat. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The food was a little below par but the location of this hotel allows easy access to restaurants, and is also 3 min walk from the central market. Tuk tuk rides cost $2 to Phnom Penh riverside.

Booked an excellent day tour through hotel to see Killing fields, Genocide Museum, Wat Phnom, National Museum, Royal Palace; air conditioned van with driver, guide and entry fees prepaid for $39 each for 4 people.

I liked this place so much I stayed there again after visiting Siem Reap. Excellent value for money.

The hotel is on a quiet side street in downtown Phnom Penh. We originally booked a budget room but changed immediately for one with a private balcony. The budget rooms are too tiny for 2 people to maneuver or dress. The next rooms up whether poolside or second level are very spacious and well worth the few extra dollars. The hotel was clean, the breakfasts were good and the site was very convenient to walking the town while very quiet due to its setting. However, Phnom Penh is sprawling, tremendously overcrowded, dirty and somewhat uninteresting. My husband and I are originally from Manhattan and are used to crowds but this was unstructured chaos. With so many cars and motorcycles parked on the narrow sidewalks the streets were unwalkable, and the noise and fumes were truly unpleasant. The city may be worth a 1 or 2 day stay if you are in transit but there are far nicer and more interesting places in Cambodia.
