“Great bar, great music, great burgers”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

Garage is definitely one of my favorite bars in Phnom Penh. As a newcomer (or visitor), it's a great place to go and meet expats who have been around a while. But don't just have a drink, stay for dinner! The sous-vide burgers are unreal and the California-style Mexican food is the best you'll get in Cambodia. I'm particularly partial to the al pastor tacos. Yum.

“Great Place to start the night or spend the entire evening.”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

I had a great time chatting with the owners, staff, and other customers. It's very casual but the food was great and the service was cheerful. There's an amazing selection of music, and the conversation was anything but dull. I definitely will go back.

Friendly owners, good food, pleasant staff. I very highly recommend this place. Well located on St. 110 just a few steps off the riverfront.

“Great people, music, food, drinks”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

Located just a few doors down St. 110 from the riverside, Garage Bar is one of the top expat hangouts in Phnom Penh, as well as being a great place for tourists. Just look for the sign with the famous banana. They currently open around 5PM, but have been considering offering lunch if they can find the right staff. Between the owners, the staff, and the regular customers, there is a wealth of information available here for anyone new to town--or even for those who have lived here for years. The owners, Jeff and Brunt, are extremely friendly and will make time to speak to anyone who comes in, but they are not the type to disturb people who just want to eat and talk amongst themselves, so you may need to approach them if you have questions. The regulars are also quite friendly and open to meeting new people, unlike some of the more cliquey places around town, as long as you use good judgment and don't interrupt what is obviously a serious or private conversation. The air conditioning is good, and the food on the ever-expanding menu is excellent, consisting mostly of Mexican cuisine, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, and the like. My favorite is probably the tacos al pastor, but I am also quite fond of the chicken enchiladas and burgers. Besides the standard selection of beers and spirits, they often have beverages not available elsewhere, with the selection changing frequently due to availability. Garage Bar also has a better than average sound system and probably the largest music collection in town, ranging from pre-Khmer Rouge Cambodian pop to Leonard Cohen to Pantera, plus a Spotify subscription to access what they don't have. Make your request to whomever is running the computer, and it will be added to the playlist.
