I originally booked the double room with fan but after nagging from my wife I went for the upgrade to an a/c room, which in my mind is not necessary in January in Phnom Penh. It's on Street 148 on the river side of the market (you have to go round), one street over from the palace. As to the room, although it was a windowless room there was an extractor but the paintwork had suffered from this - other than that the floor was clean although I gave the mildewed flip flops a miss. There are CCTV cameras internally, The TV worked, the a/c worked, the wifi worked (there are little post-it notes stuck to the walls) the shower produced warm water and the bathroom was surprisingly roomy, two free bottles of water included and the room had flowers and some seating. The sheets were clean, although a little timeworn but the mattress was better than some of the more expensive hotels and there were two clean towels. She's not keen on getting up in the morning for an early checkout but she sells fags and drinks out the front until late during the week.
