“Great value hotel”
Reviewed February 17, 2014 via mobile

Great value hotel in a great location in Phnom Penh. The staff were all very helpful with booking bus tickets and directions as well as being extremely welcoming when you arrive. The pool is a cute little oasis and the included breakfast is lovely. The rooms are simple but have everything you need.

Sambat, the no. 22 tuk tuk driver who is part of the teahouse drivers is such a lovely man! A very helpful, happy and friendly man. I would recommend him as a tuk tuk driver any day

Have to give the Tea House a middling score. As would be expected, the staff were very helpful/courteous, especially those in the restaurant and kitchen. Courtesy breakfast was exceptionally good - probably the hotel's strongest point. There were some good small shops close by and tuk-tuks easy to come by. All in all the hotel is OK, but nothing exceptional.

One major turn off for me was the carp pool as you enter the hotel. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. First impressions count (are you listening management?).

I think for the price a careful shopper can find better for same or less - my superior double was ~$45US a night.

I came down from Siem Reap, so if anyone is headed for there do yourself a favor and use the GIANT IBIS bus service.....new buses, full service (like business class on an airplane). Fantastic. www.giantibis.com

Dear Guest, sorry you did not like the cleanness of our pond at the front. Indeed, we have plants and fish in it so we cannot put chemicals. Water is changed every ten days though. I also tried filtration, but was not very efficient, apparently due to the direct sunlight and tropical weather which boost the growth of algae... Cheers, Alexis

Good service, bell boy and staff were very helpful providing information and helping to book buses for onward travel. Room was nice - bed was big and comply, bathroom clean and hotel provided water. Breakfast was really good - hot options bacon, beans, noodles plus chef would make you omlet and they did toast, cereal and nice fruit - pineapple, banana, dragon fruit. Had a pool but didn't have time to use it - saw few other use it tho.

We stayed here on two separate occasions during our time in Phnom Penh and really liked the tea house. The staff here are very friendly and helped us book buses and organise and onwards travel. Rooms were very nice and clean, plus we were upgraded both times we stayed. The included breakfast is great and has everything you need. For $39 US a night this is a great value hotel. Plus in a fairly good location, within walking distance to most attractions or there are tuk tuks out the front of the hotel if needed for a couple of dollars.

The rooms are clean and well equipped. The pool is nice and the restaurant's food is quality.

The buffet breakfast is complete and delicious.

The staff is very attentive : My companion had to be urgently repatriated to France for five days. I wanted to extend my stay waiting for Him to comes back. The hotel was full but the manager and his team immediately found a solution: they booked me a room in a hotel owned by the same company for the same price, they also supported my transfer to this hotel.

I never would thank enough : being alone in a foreign country is not easy and I admit I was a little scared

We stayed at the TeaHouse for 4 nights and couldn't have been happier with our choice.

The hotel is in a really good location and walkable to the Royal Palace, the National Museum and Riverside. The reception/restaurant/pool area is very tastefully decorated and a very nice place to relax. There is a happy hour in which it's BOGOF on beer, cocktails and soft drinks. Try the passion fruit mojito...delicious! The pool is really nice for cooling off but you can't have a proper swim in it. The sun is off the pool area by around 3pm, but it's roasting hot up until that point.

I tried out the spa here too and that was really nice and good value as we had a 30% off voucher. Not as cheap as what you'll find on the street, but much nicer.

The wi-fi was excellent and there was a lot of variety at breakfast.

The room was clean, comfortable and wonderfully quiet. The staff were polite and very helpful when we wanted to book a bus to HCMC.

Would stay here again and would recommend to others.

We stayed at the TeaHouse for one night. The room we had was spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was clean, the mattress was soft enough and the room was relatively quiet (we are both light sleepers.). Service was good. Breakfast buffett was really nice. The staff in general were very helpful with our inquiries.
We found the big waterbottles a bit overpriced (2,50 USD). I also booked a massage at the Spa and the massage therapist was not friendly and performed the massage in a rather lackluster manner; she also had long, artificial fingernails which spoiled my massage experience a lot. I informed the receptionist about it and she didn't treat my complaint seriously, I believe she didn't understand me properly. I would not recommend having a massage there, it is not worth it!
Overall, the hotel was a good choice for us and provides fantastic value for money.
